Now that 2020 has ended, and thus with it another year of Gaga’s career, rate each year of her (MAINSTREAM; starting w/ Just Dance) career on a scale of 1-10! You can give ONE score of 11, naming that her best year. You can also name multiple years top scoring years, but again, only one score of 11!

She’ll never top 2010 and that’s okay. The stars aligned for her back then. She has already cemented herself in a few years as one of the biggest pop stars in history by then. To this day we enjoy the fruits of that meteoric career start

2011/2012! Born This Way era was the best pop era of all time and in my personal opinion her peak!

EVERY SINGLE DAY there was a new outfit, performance and interview. The visuals and songs were just pure Gaga. The Born This Way Ball was such an amazing tour and FAME is just iconic.

I know there were a lot of hardships this era too but I still look back at it fondly and think it’s the absolute best time of her career.

Let me rate it:

2008/2009: 10/10

2010: 10/10

2011/2012: 11/10

2013: 7/10

2014/2015: 9/10

2016: 5/10

2017: 10/10

2018: 8/10

2019: 6/10

2020: 8/10

2010 (TMB, Telephone, Alejandro, ‘10 VMAs, BTW Hype) is her best.

2011/2012 (BTW Era, BTWB, FAME Perfume, ARTPOP Hype) is my favorite.

2017 (Super Bowl Halftime Show, John Wayne MV, ‘17 Awards Season, Coachella + The Cure, ASIB Filming, JWT + Haus Editorials, ‘17 AMAs) is my second favorite.

Obviously 2010 is her commercial peak, but 2018 and the ASIB era is such a perfect storm of everything she wanted for herself. Massive sales and acclaim, multiple Grammys and an Oscar, all eyes were on her, and she became universally respected as an artist which imo matters the most. Tons of artists have massive eras but ultimately get left behind because they never established themselves as an artist and not just an act. I guess it's more fitting to call it the most important year of her career.
