Wth is wrong with you. You're literally offended cause I said someone will get offended. Yes, there are people on twitter who constantly act offended just to perpetuate cancel culture. I was referring to them. The point is to not shower someone with hate but instead educate them and allow room for forgiveness and growth. honestly though it’s sad how Shawn was probably told to apologise more because the crowd of SJWs will cancel him instead of him purely apologising for his ignorance. Let’s stop trying to get offended on people’s behalf too.

I'm just so tired of everyone treating misgendering someone as something that people are offended about without any justification. Shawn did the right thing and no one is mad at him, but saying that people overreacted and that Sam didn't find it offensive so it's alright isn't the point of the argument. I'm glad Sam took it well but not everyone who is misgendered will feel that way. I'm not offended btw, but what if I was? I'm in my right. After all, I saw dozens of comments yesterday that were incredibly blind toward the importance of caring about using other people's correct pronouns. I'm honestly tired of people (especially within the LGBT community) underestmating the importance of pronouns to people's identities.

Good for him. But people need to stop acting like the issue didn't matter in the first place, just because Sam accepted his apology. You can make a mistake, own up to it, be forgiven and all will be good. It doesn't mean that it would be ok to ignore Shawn's misgendering just because Sam wasn't mad.

He wasn't ill-intentioned when he misgendered him. Cancel culture is seriously so disgusting and toxic.

Instead of getting angry at Shawn for an honest mistake, how about we take that energy and direct it towards people who actually are problematic.

I sometimes think people overreact about pronouns but I get happy seeing people acknowledge their slip up and learn from it. My pronouns are they, them, theirs but i dont mind when people mess up. Im grateful for those who try to learn.
