I think some users here have difficulty admitting that on occasion Gaga, like all of us, is a hypocrite. Admiting that she contradicts herself isn’t an attack on her character.

She said selling fragrances was was shallow and made her unhappy. She is now promoting a third fragrance. She sang “music not the bling.” Then went on to sell watches for Tudor and necklaces for Tiffany’s. 

I think most fans are fine with her being a spokesperson and businesswoman as long as her primary focus is on art. It’s when that balance shifts away from art and onto her bank account people complain. Which seems reasonable to me.

I, to this day still think she was clearly talking about Eau de Gaga when she spoke about "feeling shallow to sell perfumes".

FAME was clearly a well thought out idea that she seemed to love until the end (giving us the Scheisse mini video).

I do think she's hypocrate in some ways but I feel like she was talking about feeling forced to do something, and this doesn't apply to every brand she advertises.

But with that being said, can we skip to the part where she anounces her new visual filmed 2 weeks ago?

I have a lot more to offer than my image. I don’t like being used to make people money. I feel sad when I’m overworked and I just become a money-making machine and my passion and creativity take a backseat. That makes me unhappy.” 

Those are her comments from a speech at Yale. 

She pluralized “fragrances” which makes me think it applies to both Fame and Eau de Gaga, and certainly would apply to what she is doing with Valentino. 

It’s not a huge deal, but it’s more then reasonable for some fans to roll their eyes, make jokes, and point out what are obvious constrictions by Gaga in terms of what she says and what she does.

You quoted her and still didn't get her point.

Everyone is an hypocrite, there's no denying.

But to center that view on Gaga based on that quote and the almost meaningless "music not the bling" lyric is kind of bland.

The whole thing she's saying is she does not like making money or feeling like a money printing machine for someone else. I saw it as a reference to her previous manager, whose name I can't remember.

She doesn't like being used. And now, like we all can see, with Bobby, things have been slowed down. He's letting her breath, we don't see her on every tv show, on every award show, or performing every week. She hasn't promoted Chromatica as she and her team wanted it to. Don't know who, that said they had all the year planned and ready to go and then pandemic threw it all.

She has a rich lifestyle, she can't stop making big numbers or else she wouldn't be able to afford her live. She has to keep an income to pay her team, that even tho we don't see them they work behind the curtains, like Bobby or personal assistant or medication. 

The thing is, she's making these things in consideration. She isnt printing money, nor being forced to for someone else's benefit but herself and her team. She
