Not saying it MUST be a catchy ear worm, but coming up with a memorable melody is a talent in itself (in my opinion, of course).

1. Bon Iver is not an artist, it is a band. The frontman's name is Justin Vernon.

2. I love Nicki - and she really deserves some Grammys now. But Bon Iver was great too, that year... and there are some songs where Im like... ok, well - Grammy-judges may don't think a song like "stupid hoe" is quality music 

I think the Grammys just love to sh_t on women who are selling sex too - look at all the snubs women get in the history of Grammys. Nicki, Britney...

edit: My point is, the problem was always RACISM, but a lot of peoplee forget SEXISM as well

That's why the General Field is so tough, I don't even know how you can compare these artists. I personally prefer Bon Iver and think the award was very deserved, but that's just my taste. A case could be made for Nicki of course
