You should watch this video in it's entirety, it is directed towards people like you who do everything they can to clear the path for a trump victory

Why don't you do something useful and go tweet Moscow Mitch about more russian propaganda from MSNBC instead of trying to tell me what I should vote for. Oh and I didn't vote for Trump so no I didn't do anything to help Trump win.

I voted for the Green Party. In florida.

I don't trust either of them, Biden is still better than Trump in the way that he's less corrupt.

Still, I feel really uneasy because I remember those videos of Biden being creepy towards those little girls in public and, in the case he wins and he has those tendencies (not accusing but, let's not be blind, I'm just saying it's possible), he will have absolute impunity to keep doing creepy things and in the hidden. Just like Trump did both publicly and in the shadows.

Spoiler

inb4 this makes me a Trump supporter all of a sudden. Sorry but no. :excuseu:

Good.

I mean, there is always overlapping in debates. But with Trump, that first night became a circus.

Imagine that, the PDC is only implementing these changes because Trump couldn't restrain himself. :fail: :smh:

I hope Biden's able to keep it together though. We might not be able to hear Trump (thank god), but Biden still definitely will. He just needs to keep it cool and collected. He did relatively well the first debate, though obviously he could've done much better.

This was my concern as well... But, I think now Biden is prepared for Trump's antics. Also, they will be in the same room... it's likely Biden's mic will pick up Trump if he tries to interrupt, which will show Trump is still an ass but keep it from being disruptive. :yennefer:

How about actually letting 3rd party candidates on the debate stage? That should be their main concern. Because we’re disgusted with the same corrupt duopoly we’ve been experiencing for a while now.

Don't you need to meet a certain threshold of support in order to qualify or something?

Voting for someone other than Biden indirectly helps Trump, especially in a battleground state like Florida.

I want much more progressive policies coming out of Biden, but also, we have to understand that he's literally the only viable option.

Third Parties need to get 5% in the federal election for president to get federal funding and need to get 15% to be allowed in the subsequent debates is my understanding of at least some of the parameters around third parties.

I don't accept that. A vote for a third party is a vote for that third party.

If you want to blame me for my third party vote, blame the democrats for not compromising on anything and instead are pandering to the republicans instead (up to and including Joe wanting to put republicans in his cabinet).

Sorry, I respect you but you're just wrong.

As long as they keep suppressing 3rd parties and changing the requirements needed, it’ll never happen. There needs to be more exposure and funding. There should be absolutely no restriction for 3rd parties. Everyone running should be guaranteed a spot on the stage.

I stopped listening to that “A vOtE fOr ________ iS a VoTe FoR tRuMp/BiDeN” nonsense when I started hearing that same phrase coming from both sides. It’s clear that both parties are anti 3rd party because they’re threatened by actual change that could happen, and in reality it’s all about suppressing the vote. A vote for a 3rd party candidate is a vote for 3rd party. Period.

I blame Democrats too. And yes, a vote for a third party is a vote for a third party, but that's why I said it indirectly helps Trump. You could argue that it indirectly helps Biden too, sure, but in a state like Florida where we desperately need it to go blue, why not make it even a little more easier for Biden to win that state? Even if it's just by one more vote.

I'd also argue that Democrats are compromising too much with Republicans. There are far less compromises with the Progressive wing of the party, but you can't argue that centrist Democrats appeal more to Republicans than Republicans do for Democrats.

He did great considering Trump was begging for a clock in the face the way he was acting.. My nieces and nephews are more polite, my god.

Then you might as well abstain from the election if you're not gonna vote for either of the two major parties though.

Look, in terms of priniciple: you vote for whoever you want to vote for. I'm not saying that you can't vote for a third party. I'm just saying that it doesn't make that much sense. Just in terms of pure numbers, third parties aren't gonna go anywhere at the national/federal level.

That brings in a whole conversation about how we need to lift up 3rd parties more, and I definitely agree with that, but that's a different topic entirely to what the reality is.

I understand your frustrations, but a 3rd party vote given our current system is, and always has been, a waste. It's been a waste for more than a century. We have to change how we vote (ranked choice) or get rid of the electoral college before we can ever consider third parties. People aren't telling you that to discourage you or manipulate you, it's just the reality we face, and if enough people vote third party while our only viable ticket is up against a facist, you aren't going to get brownie points from anyone. There are people dying right now, there are families being separated at the border, we don't have time to get this wrong.

Since the connection is indirectly helping both, it cannot be indirectly helping either.

The fact is that Joe Biden is far and away more ahead than any challenger to an incumbent since the late 1930s. There is no way that Joe loses the election at this point and based off of the available information we have. And in fact, Joe doesn't need florida to win; he would only need Florida to prevent Trump from having any paths to victory considering the interrelated polling in the midwest.

I know that we agree with one another on how the democrats are governing and why it is a bad thing for progressivism; that's why I don't want to be vicious with you about this. The fact is that I could not bring myself to vote for one rapist and racist over the other. They both have credible rape allegations. Both are responsible for racist policies that have resulted in mass incarceration and misery from people of all colors, disproportionately african american. So, I voted for the political party that is in alignment with my values.

If you dig deep into the democratic party, there are really very few of their values and policy actions that a progressive would agree with. The only reason you would vote for a democrat is to prevent a republican from getting into office. The problem with that is that for as long as you're willing to vote dem to prevent the republican, there will be no third party alternative. People have to choose to vote third party in order for a third party to seize power. I am choosing to vote third party for that goal because in the long-term, a third political party is much more healthy for our democracy than Joe Biden getting 27 more electoral votes than he was going to get anyway (and still win).
