I mean, of course I'd love to hear new music as early as next year but we shouldn't get our hopes up, she works really hard and this is her most personal and healing album, I don't feel it'd be right to just forget about it so soon. Serial Chiller 8,044 Posted October 1, 2020 Share Posted October 1, 2020 I feel like she and interscope really banked on this era but then covid and police brutality threw a wrench into the whole thing. Chromatica - while still shows her artistic integrity at heart - was designed for maximum commercial exposure - The 3 features - 2 of which with HUGE commercial artists - the short song length - perfect for stream farming. The summer release - meant to coincide with Pride and the party/club scene. She might seem fine from what we've seen but I'm sure she at least felt a bit dampened by the whole campaign dogged by shitty luck. I really have to give praise to her team for managing a workaround (sort of) without appearing tone-deaf during this shitty state of the world. But I definitely think she's traumatized - not to the extent of ARTPOP - so she might shelf the commercial - pop facet in the near future.
