I stumbled upon these two videos depicting Gagas single and album sales, and although they are only pure sales, not including streaming, it seams they are pretty accurate.

It is declared that the information is based of from The International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI).

Lady Gaga's Top 20 Best Selling Singles - 124,9 M

Lady Gaga's Album Sales - 32,7 M

What do you think? Is Gaga undercertified? Or is it just how it should be?

She was lucky to have come out right during the iTunes era in music and right when iTunes sales counted on the charts. That made her sell more than if she debuted during streaming.

Yeah but at the same time, if she debuted in the pre-digital era, TF+TFM would probably have sold 30 million with BTW selling at least 12 million.

Or imagine if she debuted in 1988 instead of 2008

Then she would've had multiple 10+ million albums I'm sure, not only The Fame :haroon:

Not so sure, paradoxically there was more artistic freedom

1986 (skip to 2"30 if you are over 18 :bear: or watch the full thing, it's epic)

1988, skip to 7"30 (wonderful scene at 8"45)

This MV's were on tv :trollga:

I have mixed feelings on this. :laughga:

She would literally be Madonnas competition. Bad Romance, Alejandro, Like a Prayer, Express Yourself, Vogue, Born This Way, Judas would all come out at the same time. They would be feuding in the media constantly one upping each other. And Telephone would feature Whitney Houston instead of Beyonce.

Then what about ROM and the other collabs?

ARTPOP would have collabs like Do What You Want would be featured Bobby Brown (Yikes) and Rain on Me would feature a young Britney Spears as her comeback 2000s hit.

Honestly she could have successfully done DWUW with R. Kelly at that time.
