If you make an album or a song and profit from a certain community, you definitely need to speak up about their issues, it’s not to be political, it’s to be a decent human being.

If we focus on other things and not only about Palestine now.

All these singers that did LGBTQ+ empowering songs when it was cool and then didn’t even say something about trans right in the last couple of months, they are all pieces of sh-t, and I can name a few queens and biggest artists of our generation.

So sploosh your juice all over me you Riverboy

Only ignorant people or ones with obviously bad morals say this.

You're an adult. An adult that's asking strangers to give you money. Under the guise of uplifting them no less. You have the capability of learning about important issues affecting human lives and the moral responsibility to use your privilege to help. Afraid of not knowing enough about The Next Big Thing to make a statement about it as a public figure? Luckily, you have money time and resources to fix that easier than private citizens.

Well, very choice feminism of her, why is she putting peope's expectations of public figures to speak up in specific political issues in the same basket as mysoginists purity culture expectations and slutshaming? like it has nothing to do with it, what a phallacious way to make up a point, absolutely no thought was put in this take

anyone and everyone has the choice to do or say whatever they want, but that doesn't mean they're exempt from criticism (valid or not).

in 2025 can we pls stop conflating freedom of speech (or lack thereof) with exemption from criticism ? bc people are also allowed to have opinions on your opinions as someone in the public eye.

I'd really like to know what Perrie Edwards, of all people, could possibly do to help the political climate by voicing support for Ukraine and Israel. We here in the privileged West really need to stop kidding ourselves that celebrity opinions on wars do anything. Give me examples of when celebrity input has helped stop a conflict. None, because its never happened. If you want to make a difference in this world, become a politician because the ordinary people can't do a thing. Do you really think dictators and tyrants care what a bubblegum pop singer has to say or cares? Has what these people said ever encouraged a political protest or lobbying of governments? The sad truth, morbid it may be, is that we're all sitting tight, fearing the worst could happen and we're powerless to stop it. To think celebrities can change anything is just a self-soothing coping mechanism. People who are actually affected by war right now do not have the privilege of being so naive.
