Like, the beginning with her as a little girl on the roof jumping down? God, I hated that :smh:

They really thought they did something having her chase a chicken in the beginning and then having a Phoenix follow her...

except in chinese we have a saying that goes “mountain/wild chicken turning into a Phoenix”

which roughly translates to someone not deserving of what they’ve achieved

:huntyga: pretty awkward

please enlighten me to death

Don't blame the messenger.

I learned that everyone is really afraid to do any cancel action against C hine and R....A , so it's just easy to blame an American company :yennefer:

Not good but Disney didn't create the film solely, the director would have had the say in this, it's their artistic vision. No need to cancel Disney, they employ probably hundreds of thousands of people who would feel the impact of said "cancelling".

Cancelling Disney in this case would be to boycot them: to not to go and watch this movie, which would be a clear message from consumers to Disney. And there is no other way to make our voices heard to Disney other then with money. I don't want my money to go to a company that is hypocrite as heck, they go woke in most of their movies (their mostly forced and cringe attempts in my opinon), and then cancel actors like Johnny Depp for his alleged abuse of Amber Heard. While that was clearly forged attempt at defaming Johnny Depp by Amber Heard which revealed in the recent courtcases. And then they set aside their morality when it comes to producing a movie like Mulan. They only care for big numbers and big money, regardless of human rights.

this has clearly been a mistake from the Disney top, and I feel sorry for the employees because they don't have a say on what project they want to work. I'm in the same industry, so I would feel the impact of that as well. But If I knew the company I worked for, credited the administrative agency of the concentration camps, I'd most likely try to look for another company.

the messenger? Honestly, Disney co-funded the project... if anything, they are very much complicit in indirectly endorsing the actions happening in China. Turning a blind eye is not gonna help either. If we want our freedom of speech and our human rights to remain intact, we need to stand up to their 1984 Orwellian practices.

Disney is so large they contradict themselves. They own Fox ( including news), yet they hire Kaepernick and Jemele Hill for a pro BLM campaign. They're never going to be able to do anything without controversy unless they start consolidating.

As for this movie, I think China has had a tremendous amount of influence over press and PR. I have always been of the opinion that the statements made by the leading actress were scripted and not her own. Were she to speak out, she'd probably be dead. As for the CCP credit, it was probably forced as well.

They did an action that China requested so yeah they are the messenger, what they did is wrong, but to blame them is the easy part.

That is not correct. :triggered:

Disney owns Fox movies and TV entities, but not FOX news groups ( Fox News, Fox Sports, the Fox Network, and Fox TV stations.), that is not part of the package when they purchased them.

Disney already owned  ABC for news, sports, and stuffs. Which why lots of Disney movies promo always started with interview on ABC morning show, GMA.

because there is a common fear to cancel C hina, they are too strong, especially in the cyber field.

And tbh what is more important: a big company that gave a credit the CCP agency or a country that trying to take over the world? :yennefer:

They can do wtf they want because no one is doing anything..

So you're saying we can't hold anyone accountable?

Comments like this are so frustrating. More sympathy for one of the world's largest corporations than for people being held in CONCENTRATION CAMPS.

If "canceling" is how we can hold them accountable, let's f*cking do it

What I'm trying to say, is that yes they need to be held accountable obviously, I don't have sympathy for the big wigs in charge, but for example the people who have worked on the film really hard who have nothing to do with the political situation. I get that Disney seems like a big faceless corporation but it's real people that work for the company that literally have nothing to do with the situation that would be affected. Obviously it's not Disney's fault that people are in concentration camps it's the Chinese government surely? We should cancel the person or people who made this particular decision, not a whole company employing millions of regular people who have nothing to do with it.

Disgusting.

Hollywood is wayyyy to friendly with China and does essentially everything China demands.
