Musicals are really powerful. They link the song to a certain scene in a movie and a feeling that's bigger than the song. The "Shallow" scenes are the best in A Star Is Born and some of the best in any modern musical. The memory of the scenes drives the songs and as more people watch and rewarch the movie the song is popularized with it.

They're always after the Re-up Roman reloaded version, please refer to page 16 of The Fame Monster (2009). Joanne The Re-up's shallow did THAT :bradley:

It's 100% GP friendly. Two established megastars in a smash hit movie. Huge promo. The scene in the movie is heartwarming and frames the song really well, and if you never paid attention to Gaga before you get hit over the head and dragged off to her cave by THAT voice and by how gorgeous she is. Then they go on the Oscars and they don't just hit it out of the ballpark, they hit it out of town.

It's more GP-compatible. A lot of 50-60 yo people didn't listen to Gaga since ASIB.

it's a great song, a classic, with a connection to a great movie, and now a karaoke/talent show staple

Get a room :v

OT: "NormalGa" and BradGa are the real answer, people love her acting normal and the movie gave more exposure to her other talents.

GP and Radio loves ballads. Plus it was the hype of “listen to this oscar winning actor make a song with that rah rah bitch!” and then it actually being good, so it stuck around. And then the movie came out and was loved and then award season happened. It was just the perfect storm.

And Paula Abdul ain’t got [BLEEP] on me!
