Lmao I don't get it, though, these infections are almost always viral so why would antibiotics work anyway? This study feels like a waste of time and resources.

Upper respiratory tract infections (URTIs) are the most frequent reason for antibiotic prescription.1 Since the majority of URTIs are viral, antibiotic prescription is both ineffective2 3 and inappropriate.4 However, a lack of effective alternatives, as well as a desire to preserve the patient–doctor relationship, both contribute to antibiotic over prescription. [...]

Honey is a well known traditional therapy for URTI symptoms. Guidelines recommend it for acute cough in children10 but the evidence base for honey use for other URTI symptoms and populations has not been evaluated. We therefore systematically reviewed the use of honey for the resolution of symptoms associated with URTIs, in patients of all ages, in any setting.

I guess it was a meta-analysis where they compared honey to "usual care" from other studies. I think only one study included antibiotics and the others were mostly antihistamines and cough syrups and stuff. Still doesn't seem as impactful as the article is making it out to be.

They don't work on them directly but I've heard they can work indirectly a bit by taking other regular bacteria loads off your immune system leaving more energy left to right a virus

But I don't remember the source of where I read this so I dunno how accurate. It could be Facebook soccer moms

There's a latinx product called Broncolin that I highly recommend actually! It's a holistic honey medicine and it works SUPER f*cking well in my experience. It's mostly honey but has other herbs and such as well. It's actually super popular and you can find it at most drug stores and even bigger stores but tends to be hidden in wherever their "ethnic"/"natural" medicine is. I got mine at CVS

Yeah... I love Broncolin bc is actually very good and it have a nice taste tho, also honey lollipops (from Dr. Simi :teehee:) works very well with coughs :vegas:
