He created them to be able to come back to life if his body is destroyed. What's the point of doing that if it will make it impossible for anyone to find them and resurrect him, which is why he never turned the Basilisk into a Horcrux.

Well his right hand death eaters couldve been privy to it but choosing heirlooms of the founding Hogwarts members etc seems very showy showy for wanting to hide his soul somewhere safe lmao

Can’t Basilisk venom destroy Horcruxes? Seems like a bad idea to hold one in the body of a creature that contains a substance that could destroy it. Maybe it wouldn’t matter if it’s not being injected in to the Horcrux though... idk, still seems like a bad idea. Maybe the venom would make it an inhospitable environment for one somehow?

Nagini was already a horcrux. Two snakes as a horcrux isn't really that poetic.

Inside, we are really made the same. 🕊

Besides, the book was the horcrux. Basilisk is just the bodyguard. It was way harder to defeat the book than the basilisk.

He chose these relics because he is a narcissist, and he wanted to be legendary like the founders. I believe he knew these relics would be kept safe and he could manipulate people through the items if and when he needed.

As for the basilisk, he probably wanted to choose items that would last forever as opposed to a mortal being that would die eventually (aside from Nagini)

Bonkers

I'm not sure if you guys know how books work, but they are written by an author.

That means that no matter what happens, it can be resolved (or unresolved) however the author wants.

You would just have to kill it for it to destroy a part of Voldemort's part, it'd be too easy
