How did she use Gaga to stay relevant if she was already relevant and huge at that time?

Stealing the video is invalid information to weather the public eye viewed her as relevant.

And no I actually am not a fan of Beyonce, and dont like her music, im just stating facts..

Everything Beyoncé does is calculated, and if you can’t see that then that’s your business. Goodnight ima go spend some time with my husband before I have to go to work tmw.

lol yes I know and I do see that, but again, thats invalid information on her relevency. Maybe you dont understand what relevancy means?

Perhaps, I don’t wanna be nasty. Maybe we have difference of opinions. Sending you love. I’m signing off for the night, gonna watch an episode of The Rain. Sorry if I offended, hope as is well.

It was to gain that cred with a specific gay crowd. Anyone who disagrees is stupid.

Are you sure about Nicki? They did a music video but I don't remember her ever acknowledging or performing the song otherwise. Some of those performances with other singers were when she first went solo, too...Eds one of the rare exceptions.

They clearly are fine with one another, so I don't think they "refused" to perform together or anything...probably just timing. Also, Gaga said once it wasn't her favorite song so it might be a song she just doesn't like to perform either? Actually, that kind of makes the most sense when you think about it...

Gaga was already becoming the next big thing. So of course Beyonce wanted to collab with her.

Beyonce was already fading fast.

Beyonce was a cheap hustler trying to tack on to the next big thing to remain relevant. Beyonce was never perfect, the whole 'Queen' title started out as a joke after I am Sasha Fierce, and she just ran with it and she was the lucky recipient of a zeitgeist that needed a black female artist to stan to rid themselves of white guilt.

Beyonce music has always been basic, she can sing, sure, but so can Christina Aguilera. Beyonce barely writes her music and her writing credits are shady af. She didn't claim her blackness until it was in vogue, whatever. Go listen to some other actual black artists who are actually unapologetic about their blackness.

Because it’s exciting and beneficial to both parties? It was pre-ST Beyoncé. She’s MPG and at that point had a big-era with Sasha fierce but she wasn’t treated as being *above* everyone. It wasn’t really a marketing issue for her although her image was a bit too polished at that point. I guess that’s why they censored her cussing on Telephone.

If even the King of Pop Michael Jackson wanted to tour with Gaga in 2009, then what does that say? :whitney:

Gaga was literally at her height of popularity and fame at that point, and also Beyonce had been exploring a more wild alter ego called Sasha Fierce around that time, so I guess it was a matter of being at the right time and place in both of their lives and careers

I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.

Beyoncé has a habit of doing collabs with rising stars, it was just noticeable because Telephone was actually good.

Wew it was a simple question. Like calm down. Right or not, thats way too much opinion and out of scope ofvthe thread. Beyonce was doing her thing to stay on top, its not like she commited some crime. Kay, bye

Why did Gaga agree to work with Beyoncè?

As far as I know, Beyoncè called her to be on videophone. Gaga wanted her to return the favor since she just got Telephone back.

And... as an addition to your post - she ALWAYS collabs with artists who are the ‘new‘ or ‘Popular’ thing.

Sean Paul

Shakira

Gaga

The Weeknd

all for clout and relevancy.
