It won't stop me from getting out to get essentials, but yeah it is getting bad, social distance and wash your hands people!

I’m not here to critique people’s behavior. I’m critiquing the miserable response from govt as a whole and the politicization of the pandemic that ensued due to Trump’s slow reaction.

Okay, well I am here to critique all of it. We have incompetent leadership, which includes no real social safety nets, and a messed-up healthcare system, and a leader who has mishandled everything from the beginning. As a result of conflicting info from the WHO and the CDC, along with Trump and Fox News downplaying it, we have citizens whose response has been to refuse to wear a mask on the basis that it violates their constitutional rights, who storm capitol buildings with assault weapons demanding the right to get a haircut, who swarm crowded places without any face coverings.

This was to be expected. Between protests and everyone wanting the city to open back up. :messga:

Meh.

I have a friend who’s a nurse and works in healthcare and had it herself and she told me not to panic.

She said a vast majority of people who get it are asymptomatic. And that how it effects your body is all different. She said if you get sick a lot it will be worse and if you rarely get sick you’ll mostly likely be asymptomatic. And that these rise in numbers shouldn’t be alarming because it’s just more testing available and again a majority of people are again asymptomatic.

Plus the death toll is messed up, by the elderly dying from normal pneumonia and doctors saying its covid.

Not surprised.

I went to get food yesterday (with a mask) and no one else was wearing a mask (besides the workers) and people kept staring at me.

Literally this. Everyone keeps conveniently forgetting this fact and trying to make everyone panic over it. Of course there will be an increase when people can actually get tested

also flattening the curve doesn’t mean zero cases. An increase in cases is okay as long as hospitals aren’t overrun

reality’s tight if the music is right

I can't believe everyone was in a quarantine and cases were only getting worse and then everyone decided it was a good idea to march in groups of thousands. :wtfga:

No one here in Texas is taking it seriously anymore. No one wearing masks and my job has stopped limiting how many people can enter. :madge:

Americans are so anti-intellect. Glad no one has stared at me for wearing a mask yet. I'll stare right back at them for not wearing them.

So are they gonna do anything about it or impose stricter lockdown restrictions/enforcements? Lol probably not.

Nope. The culture here in the US around COVID-19 is that it was too hard to manage so everyone, for the most part just gave up. Confirmed cases doesn’t mean confirmed hospitalizations, but that doesn’t mean pretend everything is “normal” and risk getting people sick.

I have mastered the art of the glare. Gaga's got nothing on me. :triggered: I have allergies, so when people get too close to me in the store, it's always fun when I sneeze and a look of panic crosses their face. (I have a mask on, but still.) It's like, yeah, now do you see why you shouldn't get all up in my grill and maybe why you wish you had a mask on so that fewer of my respiratory droplets were spraying all over you?

The president's going to have a big rally next week. That's how we do things in 'Murica! Don't trample on my rights to infect other people during a pandemic.
