African American Vernacular English. The rest of your comment seems to suggest you know what it means but I'll say it in case it was unclear. It refers to the dialectical and linguistic peculiarities of American English as spoken by Black Americans who descend from former slaves. It's a subcultural phenomenon and has its own grammar rules, vocabulary, and pronunciations. A lot of people who aren't familiar with it think it's just "slang" talk but it's not.

I agree though, I don't see how "Beyonka" is mocking AAVE.  Pronouncing c as k is not a thing that AAVE does. Beyoncé fans do tend to use her race as a trump card against other bases and claim things are racist when they're not. However, it must be noted that there are Twitter monsters who are actually racist and say racist things to Beyoncé fans online.

Radio is always extremely slow and reactive. It's shocking sometimes how far behind actual trends and release cycles they are. Music consumption moves much faster now and they just don't adapt.

I literally stated I searched for AAVE. Anyways.. I didn’t deny that some Twitter monsters haven’t been racist. My point was, this wasn’t one of the attempts to be racist. Beyonka is literally just a random name.

I'm not trying to attack you - I didn't understand what you meant when you said you searched for it.

I actually agree with you. The only thing I can think of is it sounds like Bianca which is a common black woman name? But again that's a stretch and it's not dragging her, it's better than something like Fad.

Bianca also means "white" in Italian but I doubt they even know that

So if you understand that you can also stop using the name. Better to be not be perceived as racist than using a derogatory nick name.

Yeah I know lol.  For me I thought it was like if you pronounce Beyonce as Beyon-k, some do that. Just instead of “k” sound it is “ka” to match with Nokia or Ariola’s ending “a” sound.

Beyonka comes from Donkey and that's racist term for black people (similar to gorilla etc)

Also, if you go to CHARTPOP and look at the list of songs on iTunes, you'll find the Megan Thee Stallion song. Check out how Bey is featured.  I didn't do it on purpose, the text got messed up because of an encoding issue (the text format didn't support é the character and its encoding is equivalent to these characters).
