no. i do not understand where you're making these assumptions from. replay the interview and she very clearly addresses that.

I'm not gonna watch an hour long interview that i've watched 2 times already. What part are you referring to? :triggered:

She said in the interview that she was depressed all the way making through the album and at the end of it, she stopped smoking because it healed her. From the RollingStone interview, they only finished the album in March. So one might assume she was depressed until then.

Remember, she broke up with Carino after ASIB too.

To me some songs are just painful. The fact that they're not EDM doesn't change that :huntyga:

Well yeah but you'll bop to Alice and cry to INLA, right?

Absolutely. There hasn't been one time that i've listened to INLA without crying. It randomly happened yesterday too. :huntyga:

You think...but I kind of  think she wasn't  that happy, sure she was happy to win an oscar all the acclaim...but I really  don't  know  how she was feeling during the whole 2019 for example.  I mean we don't  live with her, or really  know  how she doing, we can just assume  she is fine but we really  don't  know I guess.

Yeah but she's been very happy ever since ASIB era so i think i can guess that she wrote most songs in late 2017/early 2018?:oprah:

She was happy with the success of ASIB, but deep down, I don't think she was fully happy. She was battling a lot of demons inside. When she was in Vegas, she got drunk often. Something was going on much more deeper than probably what we think. She started creating Chromatica in 2017/18... but Bloodpop said they really started to hone in on the album when they had 5 songs (Stupid Love, Babylon, Free Woman, Alice and Rain On Me). So the majority of this album was written in late 2018 and 2019

Ok she said that but then in other interviews she said she was happy so something doesn't add up for me. Maybe she meant that she's depressed in general but she still manages to have happy periods of time? :oprah: That would explain it since it's my situation

Well Chromatica allows you to feel all that but dance instead, maybe a sad twerk but you're dancing nonetheless :poot:

This except might be interesting for you:

As therapeutic as it was to dance, delivering some of the more emotional lyrics in the studio proved difficult for Gaga. Tucker notes that the song “911,” which features additional production from Madeon, was particularly tough. The song is a powerhouse dance track with deeply affecting lyrics about how she’s her own worst enemy.

“[Gaga] had to relive everything she was talking about in the song with every take,” Tucker explains. “She wore a wig to the studio that day, hoping it would make it a little bit easier to feel like someone else. We had it almost pitch-black in the studio. I wish everyone could see what I saw because she really fought for each and everyone of these songs to put her whole self into it, at any cost.”

Yeah ofc but if she says that she's happy interviews ofc i'm gonna believe her. So ofc i'm confused now that she revealed it wasn't like that.

No one is 100% happy or sad all of the time. I think anyone else that’s dealt with depression knows it truly never goes away completely.

The other day I was trying  to understand with some people  here how clinical depression works.... it's like a cycle so I think there's  periods where she really goes dark and others she feels more happy.
