You're partially wrong.

Cohesivness in music can be achieved by album's subject matter also.

I don't know....

An album is a collection of different songs; it's a collection of sound. You can't really have a "cohesive" album when all of your songs sound completely different from one another.

Sure, lyrics are a huge part of a song, but an album's lyrics aren't what make an album an album. It's the sound of the album that does.

The importance of sound is sorta what Chromatica's about.

am i the only one who thinks its not a dance album but more like a chill 90s runway album?

i feel like you would enjoy it more if you looked at it this way. also the songs would be perfect for car rides

It's okay not to like Gaga's album.. I didn't like Joanne and I waited 7 years for Chromatica and I absolutely LOVE it so there's that.. You never know with Gaga.. I mean you don't have to listen to it if you don't like it.. There is plenty of other albums and music to listen to..  Also please don't be offended by this but this is a second thread of yours about the same topic.. Maybe it would be better to share your opinions in Chromatica discussion?

This! It's okay not to like an album... there's nothing wrong about it.

What I don't like (I'm not talking about the guy who wrote this thread), is when some people doesn't like something and they try to mess with everyone who likes it, they keep writing "I don't like it" in every thread, I mean, unnecessary.

But it's okay if you don't like it. You don't have to feel "bad" about it.

Gaga made a dance album that makes me want to put headphones on and lay down.

Not a bad album, but BloodPop’s influence isn’t nearly as explosive as Garibay or Zedd.

There are people out here saying it’s the best album in her discography, but that’s because on Chromatica all music sounds the same.

here on Earth, Born This Way exists.

First of all, I wanna be sure yall listen to Chromatica with quality headphones and not some potatoes? :lolga:

Jk. Its totally okay if someone doesn't like this album or some songs.

However, there's absolutely no need to make a million threads to show off your million reasons why you think that Chromatica is a bad album or why you don't like it or can't connect - just saying that in general:sure:

I think Chromatica is actually one of her best albums. The production is great and it's very diverse lyrically, vocally and musically. :diane: I just can't see how somebody could say, that all the songs sounds very similar or are very alike... I mean how can you compare SFA to Plastic Doll, or 911 to Replay, or Enigma and Sour Candy, Stupid Love to Chromatica 2 (I know that's a lil bit of a stretch), or ROM to Babylon? I don't get that similarity you guys are talking about.. :oprah:

And the voice effects? Do you know Lady Gaga? :billie: Voice/Vocal effects/layers, robot like vocals, speak-singing etc. are a thing in her music since she started out.

I mean this album is literally full of bops to me and it's such a joy to watch Gaga always go new directions and reinvent herself...And to me this record combines the whole journey of Gaga. The lyrics, the melodies, the vocals, the music, the beats, the production - it feels like, everything she learned, from TF to ARTPOP, from C2C to ASIB she channeled into this record. Her career nearly broke her, but she wanted to fight and took her lessons and finally literally dances through the pain. Lady Gaga once said in an interview (I think it was TFM era) that she produces soulless pop/dance music. Then she wrote BTW and came through with a point of view, with something to say and something meaningful while still being danceable pop(culture). Then ARTPOP was about all her pain - and that's what it sounded like (to me in the best way possible). Joanne was personal, stripped back, sometimes sad, but still with a distance. ASIB was showing off talent and what she has. And now Chromatica an album filled with struggle, but full of joy. It's danceable, but meaningful and not soulless. It's painful, but not aggressive. I think Chromatica is exactly what Gagas journey is and has thought her. Dance through your pain you m***erf*ckers :pole:

This post is much longer than intended... I hope I chose my words in a way so it doesn't offend anyone. As I said above it's totally fine if you don't like the album. I just got lost in writing and excitement about Chromatica and what it means to me, and also I'm high af :wtfga:

I really really really like the album and have listened to it maybe 30 times so far. Something feels missing though, like as if it's a Gaga side project or like a producers ft. Gaga album. I do think if everything was exactly the same with lyrics, vocals, her melodies etc but different productions with each song sounding more individual and unique I would love it as an album. Gaga in the past has such amazing instrumentals, this is the first album where I'm fine if I never get to hear the instrumentals or get any stems etc which I usually love to collect. I also agree about the edited vocals in Alice and in 911. On the plus side I love all her other vocals on this album and there's so many catchy songs.

people always had a point to say where they were unsure about a Gaga album and it‘s just okay, this is how taste works

for some members BTW was too noisy, ARTPOP too experimental, Joanne too country, some prefer the Dance-Ga some prefer Ballad-Ga and that‘s what makes this fanbase

I personally LOVE Chromatica and every single song had it‘s moment for me and I permanently have an earworm of the songs, it‘s very cohesive, maybe even too cohesive for some people but the songs are absolutely amazing and really meaningful, even the Chromatica I, II and III are masterpieces that I don’t like to skip

I think this is a reasonable assessment.... Chromatica to a degree, sounds like Gaga on auto-pilot, there IS a stand out song for me, and that track is Rain On Me, I'm absolutely obsessed with it - it's her best damn song since Applause.

Chromatica is Gaga channeling her inner Eurovision, it's so deliciously camp and intentionally so... It doesn't have the coolness of Future Nostalgia or the punch of her own personal masterpieces (BTW & TFM)... but given what this album could have been after hearing Stupid Love and the Free Woman demo; I'm generally pretty content with the output.

It's almost as if Gaga looked at the feedback Joanne got and said to herself; "okay I need to make it up the queens with LG6... let's make a colourful, campy, European dance record"... and I do love the project from a conceptual and thematic stand point, but I do agree that Chromatica has a lot of good... but not a lot of great.

That being said, it took me YEARS to appreciate the majesty and sheer epicness of Born This Way so perhaps the same will happen with Chromatica. I do generally feel like there is a blandness to the album when you listen to the whole thing but songs are growing on me; I really like 911, Reply and Plastic Doll despite not totally clicking with them from the offset.

As of now... The Fame Monster > Born This Way > ARTPOP > Chromatica > The Fame >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Joanne
