EDIT: just checked the duration of each song on Wikipedia. It doesn't bother me, actually, I think her intention was to make short songs, because it's all about dancing. Even the lyrics of the songs we've heard officialy, and from leaks, aren't too complex, though I do think they are VERY deep because of their inspiration, not because of their structure. And the reason for it, is that the music on this album isn't meant to be complex in the same way of BTW or TFM, it was created having dancing on their minds, I guess. She literally said "feel through dance and sound", I think the main focus here is melodies that you can dance to, with lyrics that aren't too complex, because she wants you to dance your problems and sadness away, not to focus on them or think about them in a way that doesn't let you enjoy your dancing. A woman, overworked to probably near death having everyone close to her either abandon her, or reveal their nasty scummy colors. A woman who has been battling PTSD without knowing probably. Did you think Princess Die came out of place of curiosity and wholesomeness? Do not blame track lengths for ARTPOP's failure. She broke her f*ucking hip for you thankless assuming bastards, and it went downhill from there. ARTPOP was not a failure built on bad songs. It was a failure built behind the scenes. Mental trauma and disorder. Having people you trust throw you aside. ARTPOP was to me what Born This Way was to some people here. Born This Way wasn’t good bc the songs were longer, it was good bc the songs were good, period. Track length has no influence in a song’s quality. I'm literally only a little shocked over Sour Candy being that short because it is 5 people on 1 track but other than that I have no issue with the track list being so short. I don't get the backlash. And judging by how excellent Rain On Me is why would you want super long tracks when you can have tons of songs with so much replay value! I do enjoy long tracks from Gaga but it will be refreshing having a short album from her! Her next album can be long.
