crushedlemonice 1,348
Hmm I agree with Gaga promoting Sour Candy more in Asian markets, but I just looked up blackpink's highest charting single on the Hot 100 and it was #41. I'm seeing a lot of comments about how it would help boost streams and chart power, but it doesn't seem like that would necessarily be the case? So I actually think a solo single would be a better idea.

So I actually think a solo single would be a better idea. That's the beauty of the collaborations she chose. BLACKPINK fans are hungry for music, and that fanbase is known for hardcore support/streaming; do you realize how hard it is for a K-Pop group to even get onto the US Hot 100 given the importance of sales and radio? By putting BLACKPINK onto a song on Chromatica, Gaga has guaranteed herself an entire fanbase streaming the heck out of Sour Candy- a fanbase whose streams have been enough to carry a song onto the charts on its own power. Combine those streams with the streams and sales from typical Monsters and the GP next week, and Chromatica gets a huge boost from an album track, and it may very well even be enough to Chart into the Top 40 without being even a promo single. Then, consider that all of those fans from markets and demos she has previously not slayed might now be turned onto Chromatica and Gaga as a whole and it is a total win. However, Gaga is a legend and Rain On Me - like Telephone - is a rarity where both collaborators seem to have mutually benefit. Since Stupid Love lost so much promo power, she needs a solo hit because she IS capable of getting one and this era deserves that.
HausOfMiklaus 1,803
Maybe not so soon after Rain On Me, but it would be cool to give it the spotlight eventually. After Free Woman, or Babylon, or Alice.... we’re spoilt for choice

Imagine the only live actuon shot is gaga in her house against a green screen and she just takes some “sour candy” and we zoom into her eye into an animated trip
BillieGOAT 5,238
Without hearing the songs on the album that haven’t leaked yet, I think right now Sour Candy makes the most sense as a next single. Blinks are HUNGRY for new music from BP & FW isn’t exactly GP friendly. I’ve seen so much hype around SC, it’d be smart for Gaga to capitalize on it!! Xoxo Adriana 15,040
she’d get accused of clout chasing if she did another collab as the third single. i’m really thinking Babylon will be the third, free woman is a good song but tbh Babylon would do better performance wise and would appeal more to the GP too. however i wouldn’t necessarily be mad if free woman ended up being the third single sour candy will defs get a music video after album release tho that’s a given.
