Is Chromatica a video game?

There is no denying at this point that LG6 is video game inspired by what we've seen from early on pictures from the studio until this very moment right now.  But what if Gaga designed CHROMATICA to really be sort of a cross-disciplinary musical video-game experience that is coming to life right now in front of us?
This idea came to my mind when I listened to Stupid Love and I couldn't get rid of it anymore so I had to make a thread about it.

also take the chance give the good sis Stupid Love a stream if you're reading through this.

Let's look at the first single released from the album.
First thing we see when we click on the MV:

screenshot_20200301-124224_youtube.jpg?w

The very, very first thing we get to witness from the new era is  this picture.
Look at the screenshot with the idea of a video game: Could this be a sort of intro and / or loading screen before we enter CHROMATICA?
Read the caption.  It is an introduction of different tribes being in conflict on a place called CHROMATICA.... hm, suspicious :oprah: or am I reading too much into it?
Listen at the music. Games integrate such orchestral music all the time, especially in menus before you actually start playing the game.
This certain piece reminds me personally very much of a soundtrack from a Tomb Raider game I used play when I was young:

Spoiler

It's not the same I know, I just wanted to give an example by what I mean. :bon:

When we "enter" the world the next thing we see is the Kindness Punks in emergency mode coming to fight for justice and to interrupt a fight between two tribes on CHROMATICA battlefields

But first Gaga needs our help and shows us how to actually be kind: Stupid Love.

HONESTLY? This is so cliché and I don't know if I am crazy but this verse could easily be the opening cutscene of a RPG's tutorial ya'll. :laughga:

And as the story goes on we are introduced to six different tribes that are obviously struggling with not having enough kindness. Our dear Gags is dancing through the battlefield and is introducing us to those tribes and how shows us to DO IT. (Be kind ya'll.) And in my opinion, these costumes are not here just because they look CrAzY, wEiRd or gAGa. Yes, they do. But also, the video game influence, the characteristics. I can't unsee it.

And: since everyone was wondering why the animated graphics keep appearing on the lower right or left side of the screen other than due plain aesthetic consistency, maybe because it is a video game trying to help us label the tribes and understand the storyline better? :selena: Maybe the Kindness Punks are the main tribe and Gaga's the avatar who we are following on this journey on CHROMATICA? (This video really established an overall narrative for this album I believe. I doubt that she'll be also a member of another tribe as well.)

Also take a look at the last shot, it's the only tribe that was actually named in the video.

Apropos avatar, here is an outtake from PAPER Magazine cover story:

Spoiler

When Heyman [the photographer] describes his plan to depict the pop star as a contrasting half-human / half-android figure, Gaga, ever the artist in control of her nuanced brand and vision, quickly challenges the intent behind this idea. "I don't like futurism for the sake of it," she respectfully asserts more than once. Gaga is also fixated on a much deeper truth at the heart of Chromatica's ethos. "A robot puts me above people," she muses. "Do you think a robot me is better than a human me?"

What if Gaga wants to tell a story where she is the avatar (aka robot given the PAPER interview?) which leads us through the world of Chromatica and has to endure different challenges?
I am still not sure if we can take this idea literally. I tend to be believe that she's trying to set up this video game aesthetic but still keeps it subtle and won't interact with us in a way, where she is literally saying "Hi welcome to Chromatica etc.". On the other hand, she really went in with Enigma and the whole simulation narrative, which is also very interesting since this could lead to the thought that Enigma was just an early-stage of the Chromatica concept. Enigma is a track on the album afterall.

which btw reminds me of Gaga's outfit on the album cover:

You can call me crazy but there are just too many signs pointing into that direction that I think this needs to be shared.
So many people on here are disappointed with the way the lead single and its MV turned out. I feel like some people tend to really underestimated the concept and the visuals behind SL and Chromatica so far and I get it, you've expected BIG PRODUCTION with a narrative within one MV that leaves us gooped and gagged but the fact that all we have got so far is just a tiny bit of what's yet to come and IT IS ALREADY SO MUCH DETAIL GOING ON AND CONCEPT leaves me very excited for this era. Especially since we have the new gay anthem ROM coming in a week with ****ing Ariana Grande. :pray:

EW5EAb6UMAErR-X?format=jpg&name=large  maybe she is referencing to the saying " this is my favourite! " when you play a certain character?

which could be directly related to this :

1500x500

also for those of you who didn't know, it's likely they recreated the sounds of arcade games from the 80s and modified them for Stupid Love. That's why Stupid Love sounds so junky (in a good way).

What do you think, will the following videos also be in that video-game-esque style? Or will it be completely different, more "naturalistic" with Ariana in it?
Do you think they planned to evolve the idea of an album crossing with video game theme to make something innovative?

bless ya'll see you on Chromatica

I mean Bloodpop is co-executive producer of the record and he's known as nerd/geek so I think he inspired Gaga into this whole 90s throwback video game aesthetic

Obobo

I always thought Stupid Love looked like a loading screen of a game. You know before you start an open world game it gives you a tiny bit of lore of the world - especially with the little logo animated as a lower third. And the Chromatica logo at the end looked like the game finished loading and it was ready to boot up.

Too bad it froze for 3 months and haven't gotten to see the rest of the game yet. :bradley:

I always thought this was a well known thing within this fanbase tho. Since Gaga is into videogames, it's literally what this era is and I love it honestly

bless ya'll see you on Chromatica

This is one of the best threads I’ve read on here. Seriously, well done. I am praying that it is a video game or at the very least the Fortnite rumors are true. It’s possible the video game comes out later this year maybe? And is included as a re-release to the album? Maybe that’s the reason it was pushed from 2019 to 2020. We also saw the motion capture work she did for Enigma. The video she posted was of a motion capture performance for Aura and that never made it to the Enigma show 🤔

Yeah it is well-known that she's been very inspired by video games for this era but I haven't heard anything about the album itself being presented as one, whatever this will look like in the end.

I always had an idea that the whole album concept (or maybe just the videos if she's going to continue to storyline) is a video game. The mv for Stupid Love, like I said before, looks like a loading/opening scene whenever you play a video game, hence why she changes outfits and introduces the different tribes, and the whole conflict of the hauses fighting is shown.

I also hope that the Fortnite rumors are true. The visuals of CHROMATICA (as with what we've seen before) really fits with the visuals of Fortnite.
