Never liked his music. It's so basic and his production is so lazy. There are WAY better artists out there in this genre.

Kinda the same with The Weeknd, I feel they are too mainstream to belong in their genre they are currently put into.

This is actually a good point. Yeah, hip hop is mainstream now, but if you pay attention, most of what’s popular in that genre at the moment is pretty experimental and left field. And Drake.... is not.

Then let's not count The Fame Monster for Gaga. Her only non-#1 album.

The Fame has never been #1 either

It's sad Drake is being dragged for one EP not breaking his record when members here are stanning DUA LIPA who is being outsold by Drake's prodigy and still praise Britney's flop albums who have been decades past her prime.

"but the straights" thats the only lame excuse they have to excuse why they're fave isn't doing as well and make themselves feel better by telling themselves that their fav is actually an underdog and a legend when in fact they're just either a decent singer who'll be replace by someone else the next year or thirst over past accomplishments that isn't relevant anymore.

Drake has been dominating the charts and defining music for a decade over your favs, respect is due

I agree that lots of people here overhype any pop girl as "the new thing".

But the fact Drake has been dominating the charts IS the problem. Trash music, boring, we don't want it. The 2010s started with a bang with pop stars being iconic and he ruined the second half of the decade by making uninspired stuff the trend.

The music industry should be topped by iconic stars with stellar MVs, an outstanding personnality and style, and great performing abilities. We were FED in the first half of the 2010s. Then it switched to Camilla Cabello, Drake, Ellie Goulding, Selena Gomez and the other flops. Wtf happened?

I'm aware we can't have a Michael Jackson and a Madonna every decade but... The level of mediocrity on the charts right now is astonishing.

He does deserve respect, but all he has is one classic album from 2011, a couple stellar songs, and a lot of commercial success.
He is one of the most influential artists of the decade for sure, but that doesn’t make him one of the biggest quality artists. People here praised Dua because the music was good, not because of commercial success.

I’m a simple guy to please, if you like Melodrama, we chill.

It's still on the charts tho, 12 years after its release.
