COOOK 76,406
Britney Spears’ conservatorship has reportedly been extended through the end of August. Judge Brenda Penny allegedly issued an extension in the conservatorship until August 22, 2020, according to court documents obtained by Entertainment Tonight published on Saturday (May 2). The reported reasoning behind the extension is due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The judge reportedly cited that it is not safe for a hearing in court at this time with social distancing laws in place. Jodi Montgomery (the pop star's care manager) will continue acting as the “temporary conservator” of the “Toxic” singer. The 38-year-old artist was previously under the conservatorship of her father, Jamie Spears, until September 2019 when he experienced health problems. The conservatorship was then given to Montgomery as the “temporary conservator.” The decision to extend the conservatorship comes shortly after Britney accidentally burned down her home gym. Britney revealed that she left two candles burning and discovered the flames when she walked past the door to her gym. Thankfully, nobody was hurt. "Her family worries because they know Britney can get distracted and forget," a source told the outlet. "These are all things she works on in therapy." Britney has been under the conservatorship since 2008 after numerous mental breakdowns, some of which were in public. The conservator and lawyer control her estate and assets. https://popcrush.com/britney-spears-conservatorship-extension/?utm_source=tsmclip&utm_medium=referral

Gracious Gaga 17,163
Good. I think it is best she not be left alone or unsupervised. I think if Whitney, Amy, and a couple other people had conservatorships they could still be alive today. ♥ Kindness Police.
Glamourpuss 29,062
My heart stopped for a moment because I read 'ended' instead of extended. I was about to come in here and celebrate.

Good point I didn't think about that. I read an article yesterday that said it's the third fire she's caused. It makes you think that maybe there's a good reason she's under the conservatorship. FREE BRITNEY I feel so bad for her because we need to remember that all that medications get her in side effects and one thing leads to another. At the end, all those rats are going to get benefits from this, I mean all minimum wrong or even insignificant things will be considered by them to keep her under this sh**, sadly
Levine 23,699
I trust the law, she if they extended it - it was deserved.
Genuine Guy 09 13,941
I do love her, but maybe they are just looking out for her and her finances. You don't wanna repeat of 08/09 where she spirals out of control. I don't think it's about taking her freedom away as much as helping her look after herself. She is vulnerable I feel Stare at the Chartster in the mirror they talk to me too. #StreamFunTonight

I think if Whitney, Amy, and a couple other people had conservatorships they could still be alive today. Conservatorships are for financial reasons. It's appointing somebody to manage the finances and day to day life of somebody who's physically or mentally disabled, usually because of age. They exist for rich elderly people to not make poor decisions at the end of their life at the expense of the people supporting them. Britney's c-ship is essentially a legal loophole that isn't in keeping with the spirit of the law. It should be illegal for anybody who's a public figure to be placed under conservatorship because it's too easy to turn them into an enslaved money making machine. I wouldn't wish Britney's life on either of those people. Britney has visibly wanted to retire for more than 10 years now, and has enough money to last several lifetimes. She can't though, because her conservators have every right to cut her off from her children and refuse to pay her bills if she does retire. She's a puppet in this state.
