It was less about waiting for the pandemic to be “over” (which is a medically incompetent statement if someone actually looks at numbers and watches a news broadcast every now and then) and more about not releasing in the middle of the peak of the virus. Business isn’t going to be better in September. Anyone who would buy the album in May/June will also buy it in September. And tours aren’t happening regardless. So those notions are silly. She wouldn’t have her photographer write Summer 2020 and her producers continually tease the album, and ROM come in May if the album wasn’t coming until September. That’s madness. It gave some temporary hype to the album. The attention spans of people on Twitter and this site quite frankly are akin to doornails. They would’ve moved on and thought it was fake. Then when she was ready she could’ve announced officially and gotten another wave of hype. GMA/Forbes and other high profile publications and media outlets gave free hype to the album. The BP collab has its own article for f*** sake. If it’s coming in September that was all for nothing. Everyone wants to talk smart “business” in this thread?
