Chromatislaps 34,854 Posted April 21, 2020 Share Posted April 21, 2020 thats interesting, my ex is a nurse, and it is being used for treatment on some covid patients between the 2nd and 5th day of the progression of the disease, and it is mainly used on the IC department. So I'm not sure if this article is even trustworthy. The reason it most likely works treating/slowing the spread of corona virus, is because the corona virus seems to invade the body through another receptor aside from the ACE2 receptor in the lungcells, and because the virus can bypass the initial immune response it will eventuall attack the bloodcells. Specifically the hemoglobin in red bloodcells seems to be targeted by the virus. This mechanism is very similar as to how malaria attacks hemoglobin. And the virus also seems to attack T-cells ...very similar as like with HIV so basically it's SARS with a sort of HIV like breaking through the defenses mechanism and some malaria like traits... Stop thinking it's a Trump invention and also stop thinking you're medical experts. That's literally one study where you know nothing about the testing methods. Scientists know the effects on malaria, lupus and several other diseases. Over 1 in 4 doctors are currently recommending it as a treatment against serious cases of covid19. joannesrats 26 Posted April 21, 2020 Share Posted April 21, 2020 What people need to realize is that people are only going to be using this drug on people that are most likely in a worse condition as it hasn't been approved yet for treatment of COVID-19. This means that there are going to be more deaths in patients that received it vs. people that haven't as the people that are receiving it are in worse conditions than before. Whether antimalarial drugs could be effective in changing the disease course in patients with severe COVID-19—in particular, in cases requiring ICU admission—remains unknown. Moreover, for patients receiving antimalarial drugs who then require ICU admission, it is not known whether the drug should be continued or considered clinically ineffective and stopped. Assessing viral load, either on a nasopharyngeal swab or in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid, might be of use in understanding whether targeting viral replication, rather than other injurious lung pathways, is a reasonable therapeutic strategy. Trump said it worked, but his dumb followers thought he meant the chloroquine used for fish tanks would work. Some died, but some recovered from taking some. Just because the drug can treat a number of different diseases does not mean that it can treat another. It has to go through more trials before the medical field has a clear understanding of how the drug reacts to the virus, if at all. This mutual gaze was a “longing to touch” or a "pre-coitus" stare. And that's already killed someone... Also, he's not even discussing who should even be considered for the drug as he's treating it like it's some vitamin. It's not something that everyday people take. It's a seriously drug that should only go to those who actually need it in proven roads to recovery. There's a HUGE difference between the studies that have showed varied results and a reality star having zero idea what he's talking about. The results of such trials HAVE shown positive signs, but they have also been fatal which doesn't make a good case. No one is saying this is Trump's invention.
