Anyone else turned off by the kindness vibe?

The world is going through a tough time, we need kindness more than ever.

Stop thinking about it in terms of just Gaga and think about the message, the whole picture and what it means for the future. Also I don't know why you'd be surprised that she's trying to spread kindness when she literally said once "If you have revolutionary potential, you have a moral obligation to make the world a better place."

I can't with people who think artists should just shut up and sing :saladga:

We are stuck in the Stupid Love era because of coronavirus. I believe if we had had all that she was planning to do before the album comes out - and the album itself - the kindness speech wouldn't feel so omnipresent.

Yeah, I hate kindness. I think now more than ever we need hostility and anger at the forefront of all our interactions.

She's doing it with much more conviction than she did for Born This Way Ball.

She's literally letting this pervade through everything she does, which shows that it's not just a musical project, it's truly something that she believes in. I see this as genuine passion which I think is even more important than being a concept for an album.

The irony that she started the BTWF and promoting kindness because of fans at shows confiding in her that they were bullied, depressed, etc. and now that same fanbase is dragging her for it. :saladga:

Yes and No.

where Born This Way was about loving and embracing yourself, I believe Chromatica will be about being kind to each other.

so in a way the message has evolved. But that is the association I have with it

I agree with this, good point.

It comes off as forced and unnatural. You can be a kind person without being so "saint-y". But, I think this is a deliberate decision from her to help her psychological triggers. Could be something her therapy requires her to do.

It could also be... an attempt at winning the GP over with kindness so that she has leeway to do absurd **** with Chromatica.

No, some of you guys still need it

while i agree, i think the delivery is the issue. it does come off like a gimmick when she creates a brand around it (i.e kindness punks)

i love gaga and believe that she has the purest intentions. i just dont think it’s coming off how she thinks it is.
