Do your research Fox news lol plenty of epidemiologists have said what signs need to be made apparent before restrictions get lifted. Others have said that we need a lift and restrict policy where things get eased and then if there is another surge they can be restricted again. The way they are comparing themselves to Italy right now makes no sense, as the timelines don't match up. Italy was one of the first countries with a major surge of infections, and didn't have all the information that we have now. As a result, their lockdown was less effective. The virus had already every chance to spread. A lockdown isn't meant to prevent infection completely. It's mainly meant to slow and spread infection over time, so that the medical system of any given country doesn't get flooded - which is what happened in places like Italy. Italy is right now asking themself how they should reopen their economy. Their initial response : people who had covid 19 can work. Until you dont get it and heal yourself, you should continue the lockdown. This sounds to you like something ok? That is the problem for me. A lockdown shouldn't last more than 2 weeks - a month. rumours 45,521 Posted April 7, 2020 Share Posted April 7, 2020 While I’m not gonna watch that (stuck in a location currently with people that have Fox blaring constantly), much of the network is trying to convince the public that reopening would not be all that harmful... in hopes of jumpstarting the economy. Essentially, they are putting their own pocket books (well... portfolios more likely) above the well-being of the American people. And THAT is disgusting.
