Poker face back at No 10 on Dance/Electronic Song Sales chart

Lady Gaga’s “Poker Face” rises on the current Dance/Electronic Song Sales chart, lifting from No. 13 to No. 10. The superstar is no stranger to the highest region on the genre-specific tally (she also presently sits at No. 1 for a second consecutive turn with “Stupid Love”), but the fact that she’s back inside the loftiest area with such an old cut is impressive.

“Poker Face” was first released in September 2008, and it made its way to the top of the Hot 100 in the spring of 2009 following the global success of her breakout single “Just Dance.” Helping it to the peak position on the most competitive ranking were very strong sales, as it arrived during the heyday of one-off purchases on platforms like iTunes.

Interestingly, while “Poker Face” ruled the Hot 100 and has gone down as one of the most successful singles of all time, let alone of the past decade, it never reached the No. 1 spot on the Dance/Electronic Song Sales chart. The track only ever lifted as high as No. 3, perhaps making its return to the tier so many years after it first reached the masses that much more impressive.

“Poker Face” is also one of the longest-charting tracks in the history of the Dance/Electronic Song Sales ranking, and this frame it reaches a special milestone. Thanks to another big week for the cut, it has now landed somewhere on the list for 250 frames.
