I literally said no politician is perfect. No single politician has a spotless record. Did you miss that part?

You're not a true progressive if you're okay with regression instead of little progress, no matter how little it may be. Neither is anyone else who is complicit in enabling another 4 years of Trump. Simple.

There's a difference between being wrong on an issue or two (Bernie obviously has issues on guns and immigration as well) and evolving over time and being wrong on almost every single significant issue over the course of 30 years (Joe wrong on abortion, gay rights, immigration, bankruptcy bill, Iraq war, balanced budget amendment [social security, medicare and veterans benefits[).

Just because Joe Biden has a D next to his name doesn't make him a good candidate for president.

Nobody said that I was okay with regression over than you. All I am saying is that voting for Joe is not necessarily helpful to the progressive movement. We can focus on helping the Green party, and progressive down ballot races while leaving Biden to flail around (as I think we should). The Presidency isn't the only office that matters in government and isn't the only way to bring about progression.

And trust me, I would love to have a really progressive president in my lifetime as well. It's just in my opinion that voting for Biden would at least make us get rid of the current issue that we have in the White House right now.

To your point of millennials feeling like they're being alienated, the reality of the situation is that they didn't show up. Bernie does exceptionally  well with young voters, but the problem was that even less  of them showed up. If millennials and the younger generation want change, they need to do their part and vote (this is coming from someone who is  a part of the younger generation too).

And look, I am looking at the short term. I'm not going to deny that. I wish I had the willpower like you do to stick to your beliefs and 100% go for them, but I'm not that kind of guy. I wish I was, I really do, but I see myself as more of a pragmatic person instead of an ideological person. There's nothing wrong with being ideological though. I mean, hell, I support Bernie Sanders. He's the progressive ideology and fighting for what you believe in, no matter what, personified!

I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree on this one. No harm done though. We're both on the same side, just looking at it through different perspectives!

And nobody can say we didn't do our very best to persuade the other to change their mind. We can still agree on the issues, support down ballot candidates and differ on the presidential ballot.

p.s. Bernie did turn out young people though. Many ended up leaving their polling stations like in Texas because they couldn't wait in line 5-6 hours in order to vote. The state parties deliberately closed down polling locations in black and brown neighborhoods and made it harder for people to vote. The other thing is that while Bernie brought out young people, the situation also brought out older people in even larger numbers than previous elections. I suspect that it had more to do with Trump than Biden necessarily  but it's probably a mix of the two.

Quit blaming the DNC. It's so childish. Get out and vote! I think Gen X and Millennials have only themselves  to blame. They. Don't. Vote (I'm a Millennial but the first year).  Quit whining and playing the blame game. Millennials are the biggest generation and yet Xers, the smallest, vote more. It's ridiculous. Of those that chose to vote? The wanted Joe. And in massive numbers. We have to move on.

And, again, I voted for Bernie. But I will happily vote for Joe in the General. This is too important an election to lick wounds in the corner. Come on, kids. No pouting. We have to beat Trump.

Moderates begging for his drop thinking enough Bernie supporters will all flock to Biden to beat Trump plsss :billie:

Entitled voters ugh imagine how tired I am.

Centrists disrespected our #1 goals so maybe Progressives should disrespect their #1 goal, bc in reality, a Biden and Trump admin would be equally racist, sexist, homophobic, classist and environmentally ignorant.

Ok but you’re not accepting the fact that young people can’t wait 6+ hours in line to vote. Boomers have the free time, work in places they can take a day off in order to vote, etc. why would the dnc reduce the number of polling stations by 1/3 in Texas? They used voter suppression techniques to turn away voters. What about the young voters in California that were incorrectly given provisional ballots (to the tune of hundreds of thousands of ballots) that are never going to be counted. What about the DNC pushing to penalize the states that postpone their primaries by reducing the # of delegates they get at the convention. Or the fact there’s only 1 more debate left and we just got down to 2 main candidates on stage? You can’t sit here and tell me the DNC hasn’t been impartial or that they don’t bear some responsibility for the outcomes that this process has resulted in.

There is literally zero that Joe Biden can do in order to earn my vote. He continued to lie about his record in the last debate. When he lies about his record, what reason do I have to believe he is telling the truth about what he is going to do in the future? The only reason Joe will change his platform is to pander to Bernie voters for the general election and he will pivot hard right after he's won the general election. I will do everything I can to deny Joe Biden that opportunity.

Joe Biden does not deserve my vote.

I can't wait until your here during the general election trying to get everyone to vote third party for Tulsi. :ladyhaha:

Get those second and third GGD accounts ready for the likes.

How many times does Tulsi have to say she’s not going run 3rd party before it sinks into your brain? Also, nice insult but I only have time for 1 account, thank you.

Bare minimum

But is it enough!?!

The general election will prove it.

I've said earlier Bernie is an unconventional politician he'll probably drop out when some backdoor deal is made between the camps about him(Biden) adopting some of Bernie'spolicies

Even if Biden isn't the shiny new car you wanted for xmas … its better than the car you 'dont' have ..(Trump)

The numbers are clear enough now ….

Plus, Biden seems to have enough leadership ability to acknowledge the Bernie supporters cause and incorporate some of his idea's in his presidency …

Accepting idea's that aren't necessarily what you want but fit the needs and desires of another group is a leadership trait that Trump lacks right now ..

Not all Trump supports are those horrible things tho …

in fact … a lot of the centrist vote on Trumps side simply cannot vote liberal dem and would rather side with them ….

the far left misses the cause and effect of 'tax the rich' so much so that the economy suffers when a lopsided gov. (California) can legislate without any conservative check to stop them..

The tax's in that state are prohibitive to the middle class so much so that they are leaving the state … in droves ....

and the poor in California.... still poor …

increase this tax … tax that … isn't helping the poor get out of the bottom end and the money is simply going to waste imo ….

Most states have vote by mail. Take two seconds. That's what I did.

Both are nominated by the corporate lobbyists and I for one see them as really not that different

Obama had about 100 lobbyists as consultants Biden will have even more, how can you expect them, pass tough fossil fuel regulations or a m4a public option while they take money from the pockets of those industries?!

Things are going to be more of the same.

Biden adopted what policy to satisfy Bernie supporters?

You people keep trying to spin trump as an enemy

I think corporate greed is the enemy. The US spends more than twice on military spending than even Russia at this point and the argument is that we have money for anything else.

Biden lies constantly that doesn't seem to bother you even a little bit. Replacing one liar for another.  Very original :billie:

So you have Trump as a better option than Biden?

..

Might as well forget any progressive legislation out of Washington for the forseeable future...

Biden's not a progressive. Lmfao.

He's against social security, medicare, green new deal all progressive agenda. :oprah:

He's a republican in democrat clothing. :ohwell:

Better option :laughga:. More like lesser of two evils.

Having deja vu of a Hillaryesque 2.0 via Biden run. Centrist suck big time.
