Trump bans CNN, MS NOW and Politico from White House

President Trump said Friday he is banning CNN, MS NOW and Politico from the White House "effective immediately," escalating his long-running battles with news organizations.

Trump's Truth Social post called the three outlets "Fake News" and accused them of reporting "FICTION and LIES," before threatening to also ban other "Fake News Media Outlets."

I never thought id see a Tyrant in a developed democracy Nation be this blantant in how they act like a dictactator and manipulate media for propaganda abd abuse power beyond law to this extent and also have no one or any institution do anything about it

 

Shows just how frail our societies really are. We like to think of our institutions as strong but get the right person with the right combination of personalities and intimidation tactitcs and they will rule abusively with little to no true resistance

 

And no criticizing him on CNN or MS Now is not resistance or standing up to him. It needs to be his party, the house and senate and then escalated to law enforcement but all i hear is crikets

Apparently they don’t count the Oval Office as a “public space” so he doesn’t have to actually give them their First Amendment rights because they’re in private property. So he has discretionary use of bans. 

At least that’s what happened when the Associated Press sued him in 2025.

But if he is in the White House press room it’s classified as public space so, as per the outcome of that lawsuit, he can’t ban credentialed press from being there. Which makes me think he’s gonna move all press meetings to the office to enforce it, because it’s basically a loophole.
