Trump's Truth Social post called the three outlets "Fake News" and accused them of reporting "FICTION and LIES," before threatening to also ban other "Fake News Media Outlets." gagzus 25,504 Posted September 19 Share Posted September 19 (edited) Apparently they don’t count the Oval Office as a “public space” so he doesn’t have to actually give them their First Amendment rights because they’re in private property. So he has discretionary use of bans. At least that’s what happened when the Associated Press sued him in 2025. But if he is in the White House press room it’s classified as public space so, as per the outcome of that lawsuit, he can’t ban credentialed press from being there. Which makes me think he’s gonna move all press meetings to the office to enforce it, because it’s basically a loophole.
