Given the state of world, however, the hype would've died regardless of whether or not she postponed the album. It's sad but true.

The whole album could be released in 2021 or even scrapped... It's Gaga... Anything can happen 

 

We won't deal with Corona anytime soon and if things gets better that doesn't mean everything is instantly back to normal... 

 

And what about other artists? Other Tours that being cancelled? Other releases? It's not that simple...

With regard to this part though, the whole reason I made the point about having FN physicals is that they were pressed weeks before the release date. If you think that's not the first time someone had it, that only proves my hypothesis more. I was simply saying it seems weird to me that they would delay the album when its possible the Chromatica CDs were also pressed. That's why I feel like the decision to delay was made at least a week ago to stop the production, and then they waited to announce. It's not the delay as a whole that's making me upset, it's waiting 17 days to announce. I'm sure Gaga would've told us sooner if she had it her way. 

Ah I see. Who knows, maybe they were putting off pressing as long as possible. Maybe today would have been the last day for them to decide. Or if they wanted to go ahead without a physical release at this point (keep in mind that physical albums can ship at a later date and still count towards first week sales). I also believe Gaga would have told us sooner if she could.

Like I said, this album was too good to be true. A “return” to making music for the fans, a return to being “the Queen we need her to be”. Yeah right. Corona is just getting started. There won’t be any summer plans. And as soon as things get better, she’ll be back to tell us she’s written new music like Joanne. Oh well. Maybe she will continue the era, who knows. But to be honest, for those of us who have been fans of hers since ARTPOP, does that really sound like something she’d do? Just... release the album now, or it’ll leak, or it’ll go in the same trash bin as ACT 2 did. Hopefully we still get music from her this year though. Sigh.

Yes! That's the only thing making me think this isn't strictly a money thing. All bundles, and existing physical and digital pre-orders would've counted for first week sales, it's not like much would be affected. Maybe she really did just want the promo schedule and all of the things she had planned BUT I don't really understand when she/her team realistically thinks it's feasible to actually have the promo they envision anytime soon....the tour is probably pretty unlikely as well.
