How cool! I haven't seen it yet but I've only heard good things about this so I'll have to check it out!

Well deserved. I was skeptical to watch an international movie since the media overhyped ROMA last year and I was madly overrated tbh. But parasite didn’t take itself too seriously, it was suspenseful, funny, smart and sad.

I think you should watch international movies regardless of what the media and the Oscars say. There are so many great films out there!

1917 deserves more and just like so many past Oscars BP runners-up, time will prove its greatness.

It is a masterpiece, but Parasite has been such a cultural moment this year that it felt deserved.
1917 is a unique take on an overplayed trope in film (war movies) and it was imo the most beautiful film this year, so I do agree that it will become extremely influential in film as a whole.

This is the post of the day. I only speak English and French (and I’m not fully bilingual either, so hardly), and I put off watching foreign language films because I figured that language would be too much of a barrier, but it really isn’t. Some of my all time favourite movies have been foreign language films now that I’ve payed them more attention.

Can I just say how amazing the movies these year were? There were a few that were meh for me, but not bad. Like I can totally see why people loved them. Anyway, congrats Parasite! This one had me wondering wth I was watching hehe, so well made.

REALITY

It's such an incredible movie! I'm so happy that it won! I was worried that 1917 would sweep the  show, but I'm so glad Boon Joon Ho and everyone associated with the movie won! It's so incredible; everyone should get a chance to watch it if they haven't!

Take what I'm about to say with a grain of salt because I actually haven't seen 1917, but I feel like it's just like any other war movie...

To be completely honest, the only reason why it's doing so well is because it was the last big movie to be released for this award's season. Had it come out in October or November, I doubt it would be doing as good as it has been doing.

Parasite is a movie that will stand the test of time.

Almost finished the film now. Best film I've seen in f*cking years. f*ck ASIB, f*ck The Favourite, definitely f*ck Roma.

So good! Rarely find foreign language films engaging due to the language barrier but I swear I wouldn't even need the english subtitles to enjoy this cinematic masterpiece
