No offense, but in no way were those vocals "screechy". Gaga was literally putting distortion in her voice on purpose, this isn't new.

Gaga always used distortion in her voice in this beltings, but never sound that way, look the roseland ballroom performance of you and i, she does the same thing but sounds 10x better

Free My Mind

I really don’t see the issue. The show is great, lots of people will not have seen it (me included) so I’m glad to have got the stream.

I'm not talking about just the growl, but the "oh" part where she belted. That pressure is obviously there on purpose as Gaga performed Million Reasons flawlessly with none of it.

Also in that performance you mentioned, she wasn't putting NEARLY as much distortion or pressure into it.

Monster Ball was a decade ago. Voices change with age, especially if you’re using it like this all the time. It’s ridiculous to compare her to what she sounded like 10 years ago

She did that song 10 times better just 3 years ago, her growling was flawless.. now she screeches its painful to hear sometimes, she was really reaching for those notes in Shallow... Its just painful, i hope she gets better idk whats going on.

ARTPOP and Joanne were her vocal peaks.

Why are you putting energy into being negative to a performer? Literally, why. Delete your account and go stan someone line Dula Peep instead and stop complaining. This only reflects on your own character sweetie. LMAO.

Can't I just speak my opinion? I got no intention of being negative, just to say that TO ME it feels a bit weird her attitude in the flip me off part for example. I'm happy for you if you enjoyed the live stream, you don't need to be rude:confused:

I'm not attempting to be rude, I just don't understand why people are so negative and why the expectations are so high?

The attitude in the "Flip me off" part is theatrical and campy. If you don't like it... then idk, maybe move on? She can't please EVERYONE. Nobody can.

MANiCURE 6

She's playing a character. This is NOT Gaga.

That's the all point of Enigma being theatrical.

The only time she "plays" Gaga is during the first three songs (before getting interrupted by Enigma), then she's playing a character pushed in another dimension called "the simulation".

Yeah, but she has to please SOMEONE and most of us are very disappointed with Enigma. Nothing that can’t be changed with a little more effort (in choosing outfits and makeup) :huntyga:

Ok... cool? Maybe stan someone else?

The only effort needed here, sweetie, is yours in your expectations. Kinda misogynistic to be negative to a performer because her outfit doesnt fit your standards. Just saying.

I’m not saying she sounds flawless or is at her peak or anything, but it’s a fact that voices change with age and comparing her to the Monster Ball isn’t really fair. And the audio in videos never really does her justice

The only thing that comes to mind is that Ariana Grande tweet saying "spoiled brats I raised" :emma:

Sometimes it's not even being negative it's being down right hateful.

And don't let me start with the pretentious artists that hear Mozzart everyday and talk about how she sold herself to the machine and is long gone that are around here :awkney:

I think what gets me  are how some of the fans drag her voice or say she doesn't even try to sing (wtf)—when the critics have repeatedly praised her vocals at Enigma and the show at the Apollo last year and she implied she quit smoking.  But when we point that out, we're delulu and the twitter stans are the only ones who have a valid opinion apparently....Also, agree on the machine thing—do not understand at all how Gaga is suddenly "money driven" compared to all the other stars who do residencies, tours, and gigs like this (Lizzo, Harry, Ariana, etc.).

Can't not think of another fan base that is so entitled and b*tchy. Seriously, the top tweets are ones falsely claiming she promised new music and didn't deliver, dragging her make up/costumes, etc...and they are all from fans.  And if you call them out on it, they act like folks are saying they can't ever criticize Gaga which is so not the case....I don't think they realize that they've crossed the line between snark into basically cyber bullying Gaga (and other artists, to be fair) at this point.  No one deserves, not even a rich and famous person like Gaga, to have thousands of people tweeting nasty sh*t about them unless they've done something truly heinous...and monsters on here seem to think Engima is at that level.
