What Bernie brings and he does this less now than he did in 2016 but he focuses primarily on economic and domestic issues rather than social and cultural issues (i.e. abortion, immigration [this has changed a lot since 2016], guns, etc). Bernie has the pulse on independents. The majority of our country are economically progressive and closer to the center on social issues. I mean, the country was founded by puritans and such. A Sanders campaign focused on the issues that will make the difference in real people's lives is not a campaign that is suspect to lose in a general election. Not to mention that almost every head to head poll done since 2015 has Bernie beating Trump, albeit he wins by smaller margins now than back then. How many Americans are typically independents tho? No one is giving any attention to the Democratic nomination right now. The timing couldn’t be better for Bernie’s surge and Iowa coming up. You’re largely preaching to the choir when you tell politically activated Bernie supporters to “vote blue no matter who.” It’s the thousands, possibly millions of Sanders supporters, who don’t participate that often in online or in person political discourse and can appreciate Bernie enough to turn out to vote for him, that you should be saying that to. So you tell me why it's okay for somebody to be nominated to the platform committee in 2020 to also be a board member of an organization that just paid 700K on a TV ad that goes on air tomorrow to attack Bernie?
