Fox News poll: 54% support impeaching Trump

This is impossible because just yesterday a CNN Poll showed that support for impeachment fell by 5 points from 50 down to 45 percent.

This is why I hate polls. Just because one poll says something doesn't mean it's representative of what the country actually thinks. It also depends on who the people are polling and how they poll them. There's just so many factors that people don't really take into account when just looking at a poll.

I mean, it's good that it looks like the majority of people support impeachment, but 54% is still way too low considering all the facts. This is a very clear open-and-shut case. The only reason it's so divisive is because of how partisan this has become. If you just look at the facts, it's very clear that Donald should be impeached.

Also, you do realize that different polls have different respondents? Not to mention Fox and CNN are different sources themselves.

Agreed. 

Really everything is divisive though now because everything is viewed through a partisan lens. If you're a conservative, you have to be anti choice, pro-Trump, anti-environment, etc and if you're liberal you have to be the opposite of those.

Partisanship in today's world has really ruined everything including truth and facts.

I’m only looking at this from a statistics angle (i have a degree in it). Support for Trump within his party is at 95%. If we assume that most Fox supporters are Republicans (let’s say 95%), then the figure of 50% support for impeachment is mathematically impossible. 

Either Fox news is more balanced than people assume (and hence unbiased) or the poll itself had a biased sample.

I hate polls too. They’re literally made up stories made by data analysts connecting dots to generate attention grabbing headlines.

I agree, to an extent. You obviously cannot go soooo  far left or soooo  far right, because it's at that point where you start to deny the facts and just make up things to fit your agenda (whether you consciously or subconsciously think about it).

That being said, I really do believe that leaning left is objectively best. People can argue with me about that, but I just don't see how at the very least, supporting enviornmental change; supporting women, POC, LGBTQ issues; having anti-gun laws; being pro-choice; etc. is "bad" by any stretch of the imagination. Yes, there are nuances to each issue that needs discussion, but I feel like everyone should be alligned with those beliefs. Those are issues that deal with human rights or at the very least, the safety of the public. 

Regarding social (and some political) issues specifically, I just don't see how leaning right is the correct way, like, at all....

Or it's the fact that people are more complex than you assume and don't go a certain way just based on their affiliation 

Having actual principles like believing it's wrong to ask a foreign leader to dig up dirt on your political rival even when it's someone on your side doing it is not impossible.

I agree with you on all counts. 

At some point it's not even so much as "leaning left" as it is just having deceny, respect and treating people, animals, and the earth with dignity and respect. 

It's sad that in our society having that means you have to be left leaning rather than just human.
