Anti-Trans Women FLAME MONROE!

So what is EVERYONE’S opinion on this controversial individual?!  Because she is creating a Lot of WAVES recently & everyone online is talking about her(The Str8 Cis-Gender Community is LOVING her!) I am old enough to remember seeing her on BET Comic View back in the 90’s, and even though I love her as a person. Her view on the world & the LGBT/Trans community is REALLY F**ked uP!  SMDH

What are your thoughts on her!?

Highlights:

Flame Monroe: If LGBTQ people stop “force-feeding” our “lifestyle” on straight people, we can be “neighbors” with homophobic people. At least, according to one transgender entertainer.

Flame Monroe: I keep saying, the world is not going to see us. We keep asking for inclusion – ‘inclusion, inclusion, inclusion’ – and if you force feed anything on anyone, you make them hate. The gay community – my community, my community – we are forcing. ‘Take us, see us, accept us, let us be with you’…you don’t need to get down with my lifestyle. That don’t mean I can’t be your neighbor. I can live next door to this ni**a…I ain’t got to go to his house and barbecue – [referring to Charlemagne da God] he probably don’t season his food right anyway – I ain’t got to go to his home and barbecue, but we can co-exist in the same neighborhood, if I stop trying to put my lifestyle to make him accept what I am. I don’t ask him what he’s doing…my business ain’t his business and his business ain’t my business…but that ain’t what we want.

Flame Monroe: Monroe says that these are her pronouns because “he cash the check, she get the money, we spend it – same b*tch right here…one b*tch. The man in me has been pimping the woman in me for 25 years.”

“Those are my own created pronouns because the tr**nies, the gay community so up in arms about the whole pronouns, what names to call me. Ni**a, did the check clear? That’s all I need to know,” Monroe continues.

Flame Monroe: Later on, she describes herself as a proud father, a comedian, and “part of the LGBTQ community – only four hours a day though, make sure you put that on record.” In further explaining those choice of words, Monroe claims that she is only temporarily part of the community when “the check [is] involved,” because “she still enjoys her FTM, my lesbian studs.” She says she only has sex with women, and is attracted as “very masculine women that only idenitfy as men.”

Monroe continues to explain her sexuality, claiming she does not want to “confuse” the radio hosts “like that last set of tr**nies y’all had on here.”

“This **** right here is how I look right now,” she refers to her feminine appearance, “when this **** is over, this wig will be in the back of the Lyft, taking me back to my hotel.” When Charlemagne further pushes Monroe to clarify her identity, asking for “the technical…y’know, politically correct term,” to which Monroe responds “this is it right here.”

Flame Monroe: “All of these labels and title…you can identify as a blue, orange cow, a pink moon and a green – when you get in a bed with somebody, do you want a penis or some vagina? ‘Cause they ain’t got nothing else.”

Flame Monroe: she claims that while “she loves her trans sisters,” that there is no such thing as ‘trans-attracted’ because “there are beautiful woman [who are] already made,” and that there “ain’t no woman with penises,” telling Charlemagne she should of “torn into [Yoba’s] ass” for claiming that.

Flame Monroe: “I know some of my sisters are going to be upset with me, but b*tch, y’all ain’t gonna do sh*t,” Monroe added while pulling out her hand fan.

Charlemagne tells Monroe that it’s up to her to “have to have those conversation with them,” referring to LGBTQ people. “All I’m there for in situations like that is to listen….all I can tell them is, ‘that’s not what I learned growing up.'” Monroe agrees with Charlemagne, saying that at the end of the day he’s just “an impersonator”. Charlemagne then begs people to give Monroe more of a “platform” with LGBTQ people, because “God damn it, can somebody talk reality sometimes?” Monroe then complains about the backlash she already receives from her comments, upon which Charlemagne responds, “imagine how much we get – and we’re not part of the [LGBTQ] community.”

Imo Flame's mixing male/ female with man/ woman on purpose to gain views and fans.

Seing her own life she can't seriously be ignoring the difference at this point imo so I really believe she just does it to get buzz.

She knows that all the conservatives will love her cause they ADORE a person from a discriminated community validating their views about this community. When one does that they'll give this person a job for YEARS, it's always a good strategy in terms of making bucks for a minority to go this way...

Except if this minority had many liberal fans to begin with, then it's not necessarily a winning strategy.

She' clearly NOT anti-trans. She just claims that transpeople (specifically trans activists) need to be more honest and real and NOT try and force non trans to change their words (cis, etc.), not try and change scientific realities (transwoman will never have a period, etc) or NOT have trans women play bio female sports.

She thinks that the trans community as a whole would be more accepted universally if they shied away from things the average person finds sort of silly.

She's not anti-trans but shes calling people who live as women "women impersonators" sounds quite nasty. Maybe that's how she sees herself since she seems rather gender fluid than trans when you listen to her describing her own experience but impersonators would be drag queens, not trans women living as women instead of "doing the women" the way actual female impersonators do.

Honestly the trans activists who "try to change scientific realities by saying transwoman will have a period" are very rare. It's pretty much an extreme minority inside the already not huge trans community and conservative make it appears like if it was really a big thing when it's not. They go search for a few persons on the web who could be trolls looking for attention ( even trans folks trolling to get views ) then make it a thing...

That's like Blaire white making a thing with the "trans disabled" when these folks are just a handful of people with mental issues or trolls. It's specifically conservatives who gonna hypocritically come up with the "we need to stop the madness" thing when actually they made it a thing... They could ignore it and nobody would know about them.

I agree with the idea that trans women can't always be playing with cis women since it can be unfair or even dangerous. I also believe that explanations helps more than "trying to change their words" indeed and nowadays some activists will want people to use words/ concepts they don't even fully understand sometimes so it can't work indeed.

I mean, she can live her life and believe what she wants as someone of her identity. I can't police her thoughts or actions or w.e

That being said, as much as some of her ideas will be upheld by cisnormative society (which is the vast majority of people) as "common sense" and "reason", this phenomenon is just reactionarism and tokenism. That's why people like Charlemagne can uphold her views as "reality"- it fits his worldview, even though its disconnected from actual reality... I'd argue that there's actually very little reason to give a platform to ideas that most people already have. That's the appeal of tokenism though, confirming biases.

and It's also, believe it or not, about privilege as well. Not everyone can just... Not address things. The notion of the LGBTQ+ community "forcing" its lifestyle on other people is one of my least favorite things to ever be accused of. Queer people just living their lives as queer people is not forceful at all - increased representation and interaction with this community from the outside only seems forceful if you are willfully obstinate and refuse to accept perspectives of other people as valid even when you disagree with them. 

Also, the "technical" nitty gritty of gender identity, expression, sex, social construction, etc. might be annoying for some (mostly cis, heterosexual people), but its very crucial for others.

There's really too much to unpack to give a comprehensive response to my thoughts about her perspective in all of these videos. I've just seen the Breakfast club one and skimmed over the others. I'll just end with as much as she can rally against some modern practices in the queer community, I'm beyond grateful to have those things.

As a gay guy, the last thing I want is to be neighbors with homophobes... In the words of the only good youtuber ContraPoints - I don't want tolerance, I want converts - shove your 'I have nothing against gay people, but...' up your own a$$, not mine... 

Anyway, please don't give her a bigger platform, especially with the LGBT folk, this is not reality, this is straight up homophobia and transphobia - I can assure you there is already PLENTY of that, she's not saying anything new, and her aesthetic doesn't make her unique either, both because it's ultimately irrelevant and because it's been done before

It wasn't my argument, it was Monroe's. I wasn't making it about trans women or trans men.  I was just paraphrasing. I know trans women can't have periods and trans men can. Biology is a rather simple concept for the most part.
