You literally said that the pubic doesn’t want that. But that was a lie, because they do. At least try to be consistent if you want to have a discussion lol and why would I become an independent if my ideals line up with the progressive Democrats? Makes no sense.

i think a progressive can win.

whether they can successfully push an entirely progressive agenda unchanged, that is going to be very difficult and i think likely impossible. it will quite obviously be a watered down version of the progressive agenda, if at all. anyone who believes otherwise is pretty ignorant of how government works. obama himself wanted single payer, he believes single payer is the best route, but at the time he knew it was impossible (and it was impossible--obamacare itself BARELY squeaked through). and need i remind people that obamacare was more or less a republican plan with 170 republican amendments that in turn ZERO republicans voted for. in the end, democrats were negotiating with DEMOCRATS to get the bill through; at the time we held BOTH chambers. 

i mean come on. are people even paying any attention to government now? this rejection of the "far-side" goes both ways. republicans had full control of the house and senate and the presidency and they could not push through their most extreme policies (the wall, their healthcare plan). and donald trump has the tightest leash around congress that i've seen to the point that not ONE republican has spoken against the president after he admitted on camera to breaking the law by seeking dirt on a political opponent from a foreign country. 

all i'm saying is that clearly people aren't paying attention, they don't know even recent political history, and they don't know how government works. for a bill to pass, you need support, you need VOTES, and right now there's a big chunk of democrats who don't agree with medicare for all, DEMOCRATS.

i'm for elizabeth warren, but i'm not gonna be mad at her if she's president and political realities prevent her from pushing through medicare for all. as long as she can improve the healthcare system (lower drug prices, cover more people, etc) that's a healthy step made, and at least the end goal will have been put out there: that everyone deserves healthcare as a right and the system as a whole needs a lot of straightening out.

I LOVE how in America asking for universal healthcare, free, or more public funding, for higher education and thorough background check for guns are considered “radical” ideas. I can’t fathom what they consider seizing private properties and centralizing all means of productions. hmmm. radical-er?

I honestly can't express how sick to death I am of outrage culture. It's just a bunch of virtue signaling and children not being able to accept the fact that some people just don't feel the same way they do.

ps. i, in the end,  just want a democrat to get in. i don't care if people support joe biden or hillary clinton or bernie sanders, just ONE of them win because if not GOODBYE USA. we will have an exonerated president times TWO (he's gonna be impeached and exonerated in the senate it looks like rn) and we allll know what he did the last time he was exonerated: he said, welp YOLO who gives a **** and called another country and asked them to do a fake investigation into his political enemies, committing the crime he was being investigated for by mueller. this time, post-impeachment second term, he will be chains off and rabid, and god help us all.

People here seem to have forgotten his six year struggle with a GOP senate that wouldn't let him.do ANYTHING. Not even elect a new SCOTUS judge despite having over a year left in office.

If anyone knows compromise is the way forward, it's him. He had to govern as president without a path to compromise for the most important bills he wanted passed for one and a half terms.

Giving the candidate that appeals to the most people with the strongest support and strongest vision for the country = Getting Trump out of office - that's how many people see it, and its not a crazy idea at all to me.

Anything other than that is a concession leaves open the strong possibility for the same factors the enabled someone like Donald Trump to co-opt the Republican party vulnerable in the future. We can't just beat him, we have to beat everything he stands for and address the reasons that he got elected - address the real wants and needs of the people who either voted for him or decided not to vote for his opposition because she wasnt addressing those needs.

i just think it's disingenuous. i am always looking for the truth and the truth alone, whatever that may be, not to play teams. and quite frankly from what i see, (and i being a very strong progressive), i can see that most of the country just isn't where i am. i have heard democrats talking about the progressive part of the presidential field, and they think they're good people, but they furthermore think that some of their proposals are crazy, and that INCLUDES medicare for all. 

i personally am for medicare for all but i also know, just from what i read, that it will be a bumpy transition, and that transition alone is fodder for the naysayers, and convincing fodder, too. i mean both bernie and warren want to get rid of the bureaucracies at hospitals to save money, well, right there i see a whole sh*t ton of people going out of work or having to transition to some other kind of work within healthcare and i don't think they're just gonna go quietly. it's things like this that are gonna turn people off and make it hard to pass.
