I feel like Beto was exposed tonight on his gun "confiscation" plan. Pete sincerely asked him how he plans to get Americans to turn their AR-15s in and Beto looked confused and flustered. I didn't like Pete's attacks on Beto, but he at least he forced Beto to explain himself.

Bernie had the best answers, most consistent. He was in great shape, his health was barely an issue, and he was emotional AND made distinctions between himself and the other candidates.

He needs to keep on with it, its his only shot.

Warren recovered a bit, but she was the biggest loser for me tonight because she FAILED to defend perhaps the biggest issue facing candidates today - healthcare, and the vagueness in her policy. Thankfully, Bernie was blunt and defended HIS bill but it is increasingly clear that she does not support that version of Medicare For All now. I believe she wants superdelegates on her side for early primaries and is afraid to alienate the mainstream support she has garnered from the Hillary Clinton camp and can't support Bernie's M4A, but is afraid to back away from the massive appeal it has. 

Pete Buttigieg confirmed hes a neoliberal that see's the problem of neoliberalism but STILL chooses to be a neoliberal. He had some good answers but he was actually just kinda dickish to me and basically yelled that incrementalism is the new progressivism, incrementalism IS "big structural change" which makes... No sense   I think Warren's response to Biden about how they got the cfpb thanks to OBAMA and how she was told to be a centrist and settle and she pushed bigger was very well done though. It elucidated the point and explained what she meant by "dream big"

Biden is still a fumbling mess. He was misleading people about M4A, and unfortunately they kept pivoting to Warren as the *progressive* voice and not Bernie (who again, wrote the damn bill) and she couldn't defend it well.

She has to pick; is she a progressive or not.

This was definitely her worst moment. She confirmed, pretty explicitly, that she's trying to play both sides on M4A.

A WASTE of a question and time. Just do closing statements, thats what half of them were anyway.

That being said, Castro was right. We can be generally kind or pleasant to people and still hold people - especially public officials - accountable for their actions, because those actions have serious impact on the lives and livelihoods of potentially millions of people. It is the moral, dignified, and righteous thing to do. I could be generally pleasant to George Bush if im forced to be around him, but I don't have to call a war criminal responsible for many thousands* of innocent deaths my "friend". He's not my friend, hes not the friends of people in Iraq or the U.S. military and the troops that have fought and died there to defend us from "weapons of mass destruction" AT ALL. He committed war crimes that we have no intention of making amends for and he has never apologized or made mention of remorse for this blatant lie. His crimes go on, but It is not rude or immoral or "mean" of me to point this out because its the Truth.

Twitter and pundents on cable news are praising his performance, but of course it’s subjective. 

Pete isn’t my first choice, but I’m surprised anyone would think he did awfully.

He was forceful and articulate, like Amy Klobuchar. They both seemed like leaders tonight.

While he did effectively attack Warren and Beto and expose their lack of clarity on the issue of healthcare and gun reform (mandatory buyback execution) i still think he ultimately failed to convince that his plans were any better than theres... He also flopped on the Supreme Court question and a few others. Maybe I'm just not impressed by bombast that's misdirected.

Bernie was angry and passionate - at corporate interests. Will he be seen as a firey trailblazer who shone tonight by MSM that hates him? No.

Pete was angry at his opponents for polling better than he is...and he'll get praised for it  

It's just not that arguable. Bernie (and to an extent Warren)'s plans are the most popular because the people know they are the best solutions. It is a losing battle to try and say "No, Medicare 4 all ISNT the best thing for the country, its my super washed down version of it that I'm taking the branding of (hint: because you KNOW its popular)!!!" The same way Pete's argument is "Medicare 4 all takes away the choice of the Americans!" Pete is ignoring the will of the people who have been supporting Medicare 4 All majorly in polling for some time now across the political spectrum. And, Bernie/Warren didnt stress this enough, almost every proposal on the stage outside of Medicare 4 all does NOT guarantee Medicare 4 literally all people AND it still falls into the same fundamental trapping we have now - medicare exists for those who can afford it. A public option isnt all encompassing at all. There are so many problems it doesnt address, but I mean I guess if you believe Incrementalism IS progressivism, you think those problems dont matter as long as there is some progress

I love how no Bernie supporters mentions Russian interference, Cambridge Analytica or Wiki Leaks when they attack Hillary's loss in 2016. 

Russian interference that has been validated by our intelligence agencies and a bipartisan report from the Senate Intelligence Committee  less than two weeks ago. 

But whatever I guess something like that is easily forgotten. 

Anyway. Warren for the win tonight.

I know she doesn’t have a chance, but I’m glad she’s in the Senate. She’s a hard worker!
