Mariah was basically Madonna's uncertified successor but no one talks about it because she's not strictly pop or white.  Janet is up there too. The "Queen of Pop" title wasn't as clean of a race as it's made out to be.

I agree with that, but that's not what I tried to say (sorry if it was poorly worded). I meant her former labels did not update her certified units which means she has many more units sold.
