Yeah Intelligent life at least at our level or higher I suspect is quite rare and a very small percentage of life Even here on earth the smartest animals still have a very big gap with humans in all kinds of aspects Add to that the fact we are believed to possibly actually be one of the earliest comers of life into the universe, intelligent life may indeed be very rare Also not a single galaxy we can a serve seems to show evidence of a type III civilization (which would be 10,000 to 100,000 years ahead of us minimum) It's obviously hard to be absolutely certain but theoretically a type III civilization would use and consume so much energy that they should either build Dyson spheres around their stars of their galaxy or if they find another form of abundant energy and don't require their stars like that we should still see evidence of energy distortions Of course we could be making wrong assumptions about how an advanced civilization would present itself. Maybe we wouldn't necessarily see visual evidence the way we think we should But at least based on what we know and what we can see, there doesn't appear to be any type III civilizations anywhere near where we can observe

It's funny but we're not even type I I read somewhere that in many earth-like planets we would face more or less the same known species on earth, especially with reptiles and mammals.. fish is pretty messy, we are still discovering new ones here.. Yeah but it took us billions of years to get here... A type III civilization would only be thousands of years ahead So on the grand scheme of things on the cosmic time scale were not that far behind a type III and I'm saying we're not seeing any. At least as any evidence of any anyway And we're so close to a type I anyway that were basically one. If our planet was just a little smaller we'd be one so...
