I think that's a little dramatic

 

Earth's ecosystem would have to collapse so severely that civilization as we know it would end for a bunch of people to just start dying

 

Humans are extremely adaptable species, the only mammals capable of surviving in every continent and in every climate

 

Worst came to worst and farming became impossible wee start growing all our food and doing all our farming indoors in green houses or hydroponically where we can control the environment. In fact a lot of farming is already done that way even now and we're doing it more and more.

 

Certain things like wheat, canola, corn, soy, grape vines etc that require a lot of space it's not the most practicle to grow indoors so if we had to do that, the most space intensive fruits and vegetables would go up in price... But we're not talking so much so that most of earth's population would outright die

 

People in 3rd world Nations would be the most affected tho. Even small amounts of food cost inflation really affect them as even small increases are a big portion of their incomes

 

But say in the developed world the typical person spends only 15% go 20% of their income on food

 

Even if cost of food doubled... People would cut on others things, make different food purchase choices, or make sure to plan week better (as poor planning often results in some food spoiling and being thrown out before consumption)

 

While this would affect our standard of living and the average person would struggle more to survive... Were not talking to the extreme where "most" people would die

 

Unless again it got so critical where society just couldn't function

 

But the biggest threat to civilization that could cause deaths on a huge scale is reduced crop yield and again we have ways to deal with that... It would simply raise the cost of food

 

A lot of things we grow even now like lettace, berries, cucumbers, tomatoes, mushrooms and stuff like that are already grown indoors in controlled environments and not affected by climate change...

 

We can do that with any crops. It's just that some that require more space would go up in cost more than tomatoes, lettuce or cucumbers, but we could still produce it

 

Indoor production also requires less water usage too which is great given wanning fresh water supplies in many regions
