Greenland is known for its glaciers, but in the past month, the island has shed ice and taken on fire.

Scientists didn't expect to see Greenland melt at this rate for another 50 years: By the last week of July, the melting had reached levels that climate models projected for 2070 in the most pessimistic scenario.

No shade I totally agree it's just hilarious seeing it put so bluntly :air:

F*ck everyone who stonewalls a revolutionary transition to renewable energy sources... We need to find a way to quantify the blood that is on the hands of climate-crisis-deniers when these monster hurricanes keep getting worse. We need to be able to communicate the fact that these politicians are (in part) responsible for the deaths that result from these monster hurricanes.

Edit: I just read my post and I'm flummoxed about why I changed topics to hurricanes. lol. But what I said is still correct. :laughga:

it's not only that the rich screwed **** up, the meat industry, the car industry and the aviation industry are the biggest CO2 polluters at the moment, we need to change that radically in order to keep the damage within bounds. If we all changed to a more vegetarian/vegan/flexitarian life style it would change a lot.

I'm afraid a large portion of the world population will just die off, and a small rich and lucky population will perhaps survive :saladga:

This is what some countries want. They want more access to the arctic region’s natural resources. Russia especially would love to expand more into the region. Russia would benefit from having a lot of access and even controlling commercial routes. US would fight for that access as well.

Certain entities aren’t just preventing helping to stop the effects of climate change... they are counting on them to happen.
