Why did the Media pit Lady Gaga and Christina Aguilera Against Eachother...

...during the The Fame and the The Fame Monster eras?

NOTE: I do not support the idea that this feud even existed between them at all, but I am just asking about it out of curiosity.

I came across this awhile ago, but I never bothered to make a thread until now.

It started in 2008 with pictures like this.:

(Because apparently wearing a blonde fringe wig means that you copied that last person to do it I guess.)

Then later on there were articles like these which didn't help the situation.:

Oddly enough, even when Christina Aguilera denied that there was a feud, and also denied copying claims, the media still fueled it.

Lady Gaga also commented on the situation and said that she respects her and denied comparisons, although she did say that she may have inspired her. (@0:31.):

Things died down over the years, but it wasn't until their December 2013 performance of the DWUW remix on The Voice that things were finally put to rest.

Because the media sees a coincidence and grabs it. They love to create controversy and drama over something that isn't there.

Let’s be real Gaga has been pitted against with almost every single pop girl this decade. Katy Perry, Beyoncé, Kesha, MADONNA and even Nicki Minaj. She’s THAT powerful.

There was a conspiracy going around that Gaga was stuck up and didn’t allow anyone in her management team help any other rising stars. It’s also alleged that Gaga purposely did to tear down Xtina (which caused the flop of Bionic). I DMed Porcelain Black about the allegations and she states that it’s all true and that Gaga is evil.

I remember that after the 2013 performance on The Voice, Christina was interviewed on that show.  She said that Gaga was is down to earth, and that is very hard to find in this industry.

Blondes, yes, but neither meet the conventional American standard of female beauty, Gaga even less so. Xtina appeals to LGBT?  Maybe because LGBTs decided we like pop music for some reason.

Superior vocals, I don't wanna start sh*t and Christina has some amazing amazing singing skills but she overuses them and doesn't have a great overall technique.

xtina only got mentioned with Gaga because Bionic in visuals and sound was an obvious attempt at being 'Gaga' honorable mention to pink friday roman reloaded (which was great but that's why they all got compared)
