Some of you are so strict in the way you associate songs with genres like the boundaries between them aren't always blury and fluid. Yes, pop girls can release metal inspired songs too. Inspired is not the same as it being the actual genre. Its obviously inspired by Metal - but that does not make it a metal song a lot of BTW is inspired by glam metal and other 80s metal, in looks and sound, but none of the songs are metal.... If you want pop metal, listen to Amaranthe or the new Within Temptation album Bitch I'm Madonna

Genres are fluid, ever evolving and crossovers happen so many so times, moreover our idea of how a certain genre should sound is rooted in our experience and what other songs of those genre we personally heard. But every genre includes millions and millions of songs and artists and each sound different. Putting songs is genres is not like putting objects in boxes. This is more what I would consider pop metal: As I said metal includes millions and millions of artists and songs. Did you listen to all of them to have this confidence is saying what is and what is not metal? As I also said, our idea of genres is based on our own experience and the songs we heard personally - you listing those artists prove my point. A genre has much more range that what can be heard in 3 songs. I listened to the last song and it honestly sounds like late 2000s pop except with more metal instrumentation. Also, you said that distorted guitar song don't make a song metal, but didn't mentioned what are the actual elements that do. What are they and how are they present in the songs you listed? And after a quick google search, this is what I found - https://www.sonicperspectives.com/album-reviews/within-temptation-resist/ https://www.metal-archives.com/reviews/Within_Temptation/Hydra/393007/ All of these mention the band in relation to pop. Pop-metal crossovers happen even though I assume they have way less validity from metalheads when they happen from pop artists. Don't say no because we all know how metalheads are.
