First of all, there's as many people who like it as people who dislike it (including Gaga casual fans). Also, most people over 40 (or even less) don't even know the name of the song, and honnestly many of her singles are as recognizable as Bad Romance, if not more

Why do you think they would not know it when the title is repeated so much in the chorus? Viral tweets are still made based on it, it's her most appreciated song by critics and the probably the biggest fan-favorite, has 1B+ views on youtube. 90% of the people from this fanbase and GP love it, of course there will still be some haters but the percentage is small. A song that is equally loved and hated by this fanbase could be Venus, John Wayne etc.

Many people strongly dislike it (and it's often the only Gaga song they dislike). And no, even though the title is 50x in the song, many people don't know it. The title is actually not clear (just like for Poker Face) which is the opposite of Paparazzi/Alejandro/Shallow who 100% of the GP will tell you the title of (even those who are 90+) Yes Bad Romance has a lot of acclaim (not as much as Shallow though) and had a huge impact but that also has a lot to do with chance & timing to be honnest

Do you think people who are 90+ will tell be able recognize Poker Face or Alejandro when you play the songs to them? Anyways. How can you give those percentages with so much ease ? Do you know the entire GP population? Look at its dislike to like bar on youtube, at its views, create a thread asking which is your favorite Gaga song on here and you'll get this response a lot. Bad Romance was spammed on the radio at that time and to this day still played daily. To say 50% of the people hate it is just delusional. And no, Shallow didn't get more acclaim than Bad Romance, critics were impressed by BR and appreciated the uniqueness while Shallow while great is not really something new. It's obvious people loved and still love the song. And I honestly didn't heard about this problem of people not knowing the song until now, ever on this site or outside the site. It seems to me like you have an unrealistic idea of Gaga's hits and I can't explain but I think you may live somewhere where BR didn't peak too high (?) Its timing and chance were detrimental in its chart placement (the fact that it was #2 for so long and that Billboard didn't counted youtube back then) but it didn't stop it from becoming Gaga's signature hit. At the end of the day, there's not ONE "LadY gAGa SiGNaTurE hIt" ; it all depends on where we live Sales > Poker Face Popularity > Paparazzi Acclaim > Shallow (song) / Bad Romance (video) Iconicness > Bad Romance, Poker Face Cultural phenomenon > Poker Face, Shallow And yes, in most countries from Europe, Bad Romance is nowhere near Paparazzi in terms of "fame"; that might change my perception a bit (even Eh Eh radio-smashed harder here)

Shallow got critical acclaim but Bad Romance got a more widespread one and I'm not talking about the video. There is now way Paparazzi and Eh Eh were bigger hits than Bad Romance. Or that Paparazzi is more popular than Bad Romance. And I know it because I'm European too. Sorry but this is just 100% false. Maybe let's say it's a specific country but overall there is no way. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bad_Romance#Charts https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paparazzi_(Lady_Gaga_song)#Chart https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eh,_Eh_(Nothing_Else_I_Can_Say)#Charts One thing I can agree is that she has more signature hits even though is Bad Romance that comes first, followed by Poker Face. I only talked about radio when I talked about Paparazzi and Eh Eh though, and that's a fact. Not about sales etc. However, I still think that a lot more people appreciate Paparazzi than Bad Romance, that's just what I've been seeing everyday for 10 years

Just look in how many charts went #1. And what you may think about people appreciating certain song over other could be purely speculative and subjective. Paparazzi if anything is her 5th or 6th signature song, after Bad Romance, Poker Face, Shallow, Born This Way and Just Dance. Of course Paparazzi is still loved and played by radio but when it comes to metrics where you can track them objectively: Bad Romance gets more views on youtube, gets more streams on spotify and has more certificated units, it was Bad Romance that charted the week after the Superbowl etc.
