I do, and I'm surprised actually not many people have it...?

Mine is like a heavy one, I associate literally everything with colors...days of the week, subjects, numbers, names, songs, words...

Depending on what it is I sort it in my brain not even just as a color but as a patter or a theme you know?

 :laughga:

I used to believe it was a common thing too. Than I stumbled on a video on youtube that at one point said "What color is Monday? If you have an answer for it you have synesthesia and and you are part of 2% of the population!"  and I was like wtf:saladga:

That's so interesting

I never had colours for words but I had images for words is that also synesthesia or is it something else?

I kind of grew out of it mostly I don't normally associate words with Images anymore

But I think it only went away like 90%. On occasion I still get visual mental images of something that has nothing to do with a word or something I saw etc... But when I was a kid it was a lot more

I used to hate the word Sabado (Saturday) just because I hated the burnt dust bunny surrounded in fish net image. It was nasty to me :emma:

By the way I hate Always Remember Us This Way because it evoces in me the feeling of late afternoon sun rays on a highway while you drive and give you headache while a bad radio song is on:saladga:

I also tend to like blue/purple songs and dislike green/yellow songs..

i have chromesthesia, auditory-tactile, and lexical-gustatory for sure

my chromesthesia is the strongest, beyond just colours i also see sounds as shapes and such

for example the bell synths/sounds in heal me are like round, white shapes that kind of resemble stars, and the song itself is a variety of shades of teal and blue

I don't know if that counts, but I visualize days, weeks, months and even years in my head as a giant calendar resembling these two-sided ones

half-year-calendar-two-sides-450w-494110

:selena:  . For some reason on the second side are only the months September to December :selena:  :selena: .

I have both Grapheme-color synesthesia and Chromesthesia, didn't know there were individual terms for those which is cool. It helps me a lot when making music but it's annoying when I want to search for music of a certain 'colour'

I had no idea Gaga had it too thats cool

I have grapheme-color synesthesia and chromestesia.

To me, learning about it was not just shocking because I thought everyone had that, but because I never realized I did. It's like breathing, you never think about the fact that you're always naturally breathing, until you consciously stop and think about it. It's the same with synesthesia. Even though I know I have it, I don't consciously realize what colors I associate with songs I'm listening to, until I start wondering "hey by the way, what colors do I see for this song ?".

No. Do you have to close your eyes to see the colors, or do they overlay onto whatever your eyes are normally seeing, changing the colors?

It's just something abstract in your head, as if I asked you to imagine an apple.

I don't have it but knew someone who did. They made a book illustrating how she saw the world. It's an incredible work. Really beautiful. As  fellow design students, I had the privilege of seeing her  layout, print, cut and bind the entire book, by hand, in our OG printing room. She was an eccentric, kind and talented artist/designer. I think Temple Grandin ultimately wrote the foreword too?
