No.
Gaga is so well liked that people go out of their way to describe her as a “good human being”. She is emotional - and compassionate and empathetic.  She is also doing wonderful work to increase mental health awareness.  Sorry but this really is rude.

LOL. Wasn’t the first lesson in your psychology class NOT to diagnose people without a professional license? Stop.

yuh, thank you!

i also think framing any mental disorder as a hypothetical "insult" is bad, but it's especially harmful when it's a personality disorder, because that's one cluster of illnesses that society still has major stigma towards.

I think I have (or previously have had) this :toofunny:

I wouldn't say I have it but I must have the non-disorder version of this, especially the "exaggerating everything" side of it. Being easily influenced isn't true for me though. But maybe it's just the Leo in me that does this :smh:

I don't know how she acts when she's alone or with her closest circle, but there are many moments that seem hugely inconsistent. I guess you can call it an enigma, but it's surprising how someone can have a completely different disposition from day to day.
Cuz sometimes she's the rocker chick, or old Hollywood, or politicized and matronly, or dainty and cute, and at other times dark and robotic.
Maybe there's something there, but meh. She is smart and aware of her enigmatic sides of course :)  Or at least I hope she feels like a whole, self-aware person.

Get the pinot ready, because it's turtle time.

We know very little about her personal life, and her public life will always intensify her personality.

As a psychologist I hope you're aware that personality disporder diagnoses are only considered when the actions of a person cause dysfunction in their ability to live their life. To speculate and attach a personality disorder diagnosis to gaga is really rude tbh

THANK YOU

That sounds like me but I think a lot of people would recognize them in that list though...

I think Gaga, and a few other stars have a lot of traits that fit this disorder, but maybe she doesn't qualify for all of the traits

Trying to define famous people psychological traits is not that uncommon to do from psychologists themselves. I feel like you are crossing the line when you try to define an acquaintance or someone you are close with. After all, the analysis of a bunch of characters with no context from a person you don't know is not really a diagnosis. The study of famous people psychological traits and personalities have been thoroughly studied through sociology and psychology and give us important information on a big number of topics such as privacy, etc.

------

By the way, having any personality disorder doesn't mean you can possess  "opposite"  personality traits to those derived from a list of symptoms written by a bunch of pharmacologists and psychiatrists. You can be humble and have Narcisstic Personality Disorder, you can be responsible and deal with BPD impulses, etc

-------

To those trying to use Fred's hysteria as an explanation for anything, please reconsider your choices
