So, no one clocked that it may be a low key ref to the cracked mirror saying from Telephone? Or maybe just a poetic statement incorporating the symbolism of a broken mirror The shards capture the multiple versions of ourselves...the many different faces (didn't Joanne write this in that poem?)...all the reinventions (Gaga's thing)...all the former selves we need shed to become who we are today.

Also I believe the shards  raise up, quite poignantly, during the encore/shallow don't they?
