Should Gaga make a "Fight the Power" kind of record based on feminism, trans equality, the future, climate change awareness, #MeToo as it could potentially resonate as her defining what "Gaga" means? (I think she has to make this type of record one day....an unapologetic record stating and defining who and what GAGA means). A sort of "this is me defining what and who I am and what I choose Gaga means".  Gaga is intrinsically political. I think she needs a record where she gets to champion what she has fought for.

Or should she make ear candy for the charts and score some more commercial success, saving this record for maybe LG7 or LG8?

No.

Would it be nice? Yeah.

Would it flop? Absolutely. I think she should stay out of it. A track or two could be nice, but not an entire album. It won't work, look what happened with Born This Way. She finally gained the GP back, let's not lose them :messga:

(Music not the bling doesn't matter anymore. No sells, no new music, that's how it works now)

Idk....didn't the greats like Bowie, Hendrix, The Beatles, Elton, Madonna actually take risks when they had the GP in their hands? And it ironically paid off. Madonna's first true "comeback" from a decline was Ray of Light and it was a deep, twisted, risky journey into how she felt about the world and her life.

It would be seen as courageous in the long run.

Do we want numbers or respect in 2050 at this point?

I just think about it and you know....Debbie Gibson and Olivia Newton John were massive chart topping artists in the 80s but people remember Madonna and Cyndi more (who were riskier).

No. It would be enormously predictable to do that. Also she would destroy any momentum she has got with ASIB and the goodwill towards her. It just needs to be a great pop record. That's all.

I mean, it's a VERY sensitive topic. And sadly, if it doesn't pay off, we won't hear from Gaga in a very long time, why? Interscope only cares about the money, if Gaga flops, they will start with the nonsupportive bullshit again. She'll have no support, once again :saladga: and it's not just about charts, it's about the way she's going to get treated by the media again, by her own fans! We know how that affected her in the past.

Yes, she has the voice and platform to do it, and perhaps make it work. But what if it doesn't? Would the 2019 Gaga take another risk, at this point? After everything she has been through?   I don't think it's a good idea...

This. 100%. I hate how some pop fans just want success and gp love for their fave. I love Madonna and Gaga for their edge, their commentary and world issues and for taking risks. If Gaga loses that, she will lose me.

She should do whatever inspires her. Trump, are you listening?

The fact that underneath it just says, "Pop Star"....

:cryga:

...they really did not know what she was capable of. Fox News did her dirty there. :excuseu:

I don't care about that. I care about her. Taking risks is good, but it has its cons. I'm here for Gaga to be political again, I'D LOVE TO! She's amazing at it. But I'm absolutely not here for a possible backlash again. We've been through that during Born This Way and post ARTPOP era and she was NOT doing well. So, even if it sounds shallow, I'd rather her playing safe, or taking minor risks.

Yes! Convert all the str8s she attracted with ASIB into hunties!:vegas:

I would be ok with one song being like that not an album though, but it needs to come off as good because those kind of songs tend to be considered corny or cringy as long if it’s treated like a Born this way 2.0, we good! Nothing wrong with spreading awareness and positivity

You might not believe it, but and dare I say this seriously:

2013-2016 didn't break Lady Gaga.

It made her stronger.

In a metaphorical way like BTW sure. Everyone's suddenly fighting a cause these days, which is great, but it would be nice to have something that's all about the music. I use it to escape reality I don't want to be brought right back to it lol.
