What’s the sense in being a fan of someone who brings you that much negativity for simply existing? Some people just need to unstan already tbh. One reason I'm drawn to her now is that she's an adult woman who's taken control of her life and career and built a team to implement her singular vision. Glad to see that many of y'all appreciate that too. As for the toxic stans, it's easy to be sh---y behind an avatar and it's a lot harder to create meaningful things, especially at the level of Gaga and her team. Since ~2012 when she started getting lip injections there have always been at least a few comments about her face on every. single. photo. of her. When she broke her hip there were people who the first thing they said was "is this going to delay ARTPOP??" Like, seriously, as she was lying on an operating table. For months after when Gaga was off social media people would tweet at DJWS and bug him about when the album was coming when Gaga literally couldn't fu*king walk. It was a nightmare. That kind of thing truly shows that there are "fans" that just don't see her as a human. Which is crazy to me because her humanity in the face of fame is what makes her so special. Anyway, there have always been bad apples but they seem to have gotten worse, or louder, or something. And it sucks because there are so many of us who just love her, unconditionally, full stop. Marina posted about the fact that we tend to forget celebs are human too, and they can read things and they don't wanna be hated. So she may have been affected by our behaviour and i confess i have not always been kind too. I hope this thread can make a difference. we all love her. Its like stan twitter has to go out of their way to try and say the most outrageous disgusting things just so they can get likes for themselves. They all love her but the language and how they use it these days can be kinda sick at times. Then again some people just love to hate others.
